Typical public house which serves surprisingly good food. However, it can be a noisy venue, especially on a Saturday evening if people have been drinking 'all-day'!Hi mjatsts, thanks so much for the review! We're glad you enjoyed the food during your visit with us and we hope to see you here at The Cliff again soon!

The second time we have visited this place, the first visit no problems, arrived 2 hours before our meal drank outside then had our meal then went back outside to have coffees & then paid our bill, great experience & lovely place to eat.Sadly the second time we ate here was the same precidure arrived 2 hours before for drinks then had our meal, to witch we then asked to have our coffees outside but was asked to pay the bill then & for the coffees that we hadnât had.We did speak to a member of staff about this & expressed our concerns that we did feel uncomfortable & let down as if we was going to leave without paying the bill. The member of staff came back to us & said that the waitress thought that it would be easier to pay the bill then, well I might have had more drinks for one & do they ask the people eating outside to pay for their meal before they have the meal, donât think so.All in all a great place to eat BUT not much trust in the staff & if you want to feel belittled then this is a must place.

Weâve been a pub since 1671 in one form or another, so welcoming people in for a relaxing afternoon or evening is in our bones and bricks. Come and soak up some rays in our private garden, or watch the world (and weddings) go by down historic market stree
Poole on a freezing day in January with very few people about is not the best time to review a restaurant ! Nevertheless we were given a very warm welcome and quickly asked if we wanted a drink whilst looking at the menu and specials. As you would expect the menu is small but everyone should find a dish they like.My partner opted for lasagne while I had a steak and ale pie. Both were home made and portions were a good size. The lasagne was piping hot ,well seasoned with a good thick sauce. My pie had a good filling of tender steak and an excellent short pastry case and top served with creamy mashed potato and a sauce boat of extra meaty gravy .With two glasses of wine the bill of under £30 for two represented great value for money. All food is made on the premises and talking to the chef he knew what he was doing !Thank you so much for your review. It's so great to hear you had a lovely time. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

With it's exposed beams, cosy benches and big oak barrels, our place on Poole Quay is one of our favourites. It's just at the start of the High Street, right by the water. Grab a seat in the sun by the window and enjoy the view or watch our chefs working
Have been here several times lately and have discovered my favourite pizza. I love spicy food and this pizza with naga chilli did not disappoint. It was the first time in my life that I was almost defeated! Aaron is an amazing host and makes us feel so welcome every time we have been in there. Beautiful selection on cider on offer too. A must visit!Hi James,Thanks for leaving a review, we always appreciate feedback!I'm glad you enjoyed the Big Jerk pizza, It's far too hot for me! We're always looking for new combinations and recipes, and hope to have many more hot pizzas on the way.We hope to see you again soon!Kind Regards,LaurenSupervisorThe Poole Stable

The place to go to on Poole Quay for good food and Badger real ales. Has disabled access, also disabled toilet. Child friendly ( children's menu available) We open at 12 noon and close at 11.00pm Monday to Saturday, Sunday 12 noon to 10pm. We served Lunch
Right on the quay, this nauticalia packed pub exceeded expectations. The food was so reasonably priced, we checked the bill twice. We had mussels, tempura prawns, prawns in garlic and white wine, Mac cheese and some kids meals. The kids meals were adult size so excellent value too. Mac cheese clearly homemade as had a touch of nutmeg. Mussels big and juicy. Prawns huge. Rich sauces. Absolutely great. And the fish dishes were about £8. Amazing. Staff lovely, good choice of wine. Canât wait to go back.

We had a revisit whilst on holiday in Poole, we ordered a fish pie and a bubble and Beef, both meals soon arrived and looked really nice. My only small complaint was the beef with Bubble, it was a bit chewy, it only needed cooking a little longer originally other than that it was perfect. My wife then had a sweet (which was excellent). A lot better than the last time we visited.

The oldest and best family run fresh fish and seafood Bar/Restaurant on Poole Quay. If you love fresh fish and seafood this is the best, no batter on the fish and not a chip in sight.Fresh local fish and shellfish,Oysters,Crab,Lobster, fish soup,Fish pies
Mrs MadDog took me to Poole to carry on with my convalescence after life changing surgery(new knee). On day two we spot the Poole arms after our harbour boat trip. The board outside makes us think that we fancy a bit of seafood for dinner tonight. We took note of the reviews and booked a table for that night, and it was a bit busy so that was a good move. I did see a reply from the pub that said they would put an item by for you if you ask. Good idea!Did see some reviews wingeing about no Crab available. As a chef in a previous life MadDog understands the supply chain locally can let you down. So come back tomorrow!. One of the said wingers also said the breakfast at the same hotel we stayed at was "great" which made me realise he was not very bright. One star only, get a life mate............Back to The Poole Arms. Mrs M. has the Chowder and I have the Oysters. Both are really good (the oysters were a bit pricey though) and then we have.............two Crab salads !!. These are the biggest tastiest Crabs ever served on a large mixed salad. Very very good. Bit of a winge myself here and its me being a bit Chefffy. Sliced bread served with this I think, was a bit downmarket. A wholemeal version of the crusty bread served with the Seafood chowder would have been a nicer touch. Or maybe a choice of each would be good. Also note that this is a child free Pub (they all used to be at one time) which is a good thing for people who want to enjoy their food in peace and quiet. Very good move by The Poole Arms.So we have all this excellent food, a decent pint and an extra large glass of something from New Zealand for Mrs M. (what else)? Two lovely friendly ladies serving/pulling pints and all is good with world. Great!!Tony and Wendy12 you don't know what you missed.MadDog says "The Walrus and the Carpenter"..

Friendly and vibrant bar and casual dining restaurant with freshly cooked menu specialising in Breakfasts from £4.95, Premium Burgers, Steaks and Pizzas and a separate Vegan menu. Great Special Offers every day of the week ( 2-4-1 Dining on Tuesdays, Stea
First visit - strange mix of bar - restaurant - live entertainment ! Booked for meet up with friends but def not the place for a quiet chat ! Made worse by the noisiest table next to us in Bournemouth ! The food was good however - Would say its more of a bar with food than somewhere to go and eat - which is a shame as the food and restaurant area is nice ! Plus ordering at bar and then having to queue at the bar your meal to pay on a busy Friday night isnât the best way to get return business !! Good vibe but confused identity - seemed / felt disorganised Hi DinerSouthsea -you've hit the nail right on the head, I think - we're a bar that serves really good food, and have live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, which has been really popular with our regular clientele for the last 3 years. There's a huge welcome sign as you come in that recommends you order at the bar, although we're always happy to take your order at the table if you prefer - just ask us when you arrive, although we'll reinforce staff training to make sure we're all more aware of attention to detail as a consequence of your review so thankyou :)
