We were attending a conference and had limited time for dinner. We came across Dr. J's BBQ by accident. It was not advertised anywhere. What a great surprise. The food was so good and the service very fast. Definitely will return if ever in Peterborough again

It's been more than two decades since I ate here and it was good. There were a few gluten-free options, so I had the chicken fingers (pre-coated with GF topping) and fries (baked).I was grateful that the cook knew the ingredients well and could ensure my safety with every element including the condiments. The server, who shared that she was new to this restaurant, could benefit from more insight about food allergies and how to ask the right questions to ensure the consumer's safety. The setting is still pleasant and seems to have expanded indoors and out. The price was reasonable and the speed of service was good (weekday lunch hour).

Stopped for lunch recently, place was not terribly busy but attention lacking. We each ordered different items off of the menu; she ordered 'Pickwickian' sandwich and I ordered 'Hail the Cheese'. Of the two orders hers was bland in flavor, a wrap that tasted like it had been pre-prepared maybe the day before? Anyway, not a lot of flavor though the menu description made it sound like a taste bud explosion. My toasted cheese sandwich was fresher and had more flavor. Found the prices high considering it was lunch time. Almost 40 dollars for lunch with no alcohol.

Met up with some girlfriend's this past weekend. Several of the ladies had dined at this establishment previously. They mentioned the food was really good here. We ordered drinks and checked out the menu. I found that there were numerous items on their menu that I wanted to try out. I settled on a glass of Sangria which was delicious. I ordered the mussels that were on special that evening. I believe they were a Mexican dish with bacon and shucked corn. portion was quite large for an appetizer. They didn't disappoint. I also ordered the Beet salad. The menu didn't say it came with goat cheese but I did ask the server and she confirmed that it was on the dish. This salad was the best Beet salad I have ordered. It has the perfect amount of everything on it. The dressing was excellent. I felt completely satisfied with my dish. I added shrimp to the salad and they were very good quality ones. All in all it was a really good meal. I ended up having a couple vodka and tonics and tipped the server 20%. She did a fantastic job of serving our entire group. My bill was around 83.00. I thought for the quality of the meal and the 3 alcoholic beverages it was priced accordingly. I will go back to dine here in the future. Thanks for a great night out!

We were in the mood for burgers and enjoyed our meal. Not the best burger I've ever had but far better than most--I ordered a basic burger and found it moist and tasty. When we asked whether we could get our meals before we needed to leave for our movie nearby, our server told us about a discount we could get if we showed our tickets. I ordered the tickets on my phone and she cheerfully gave us the discount.Thank you very much for taking the time to send a review....the movie ticket promotion is very popular and we're glad you had the chance to use it....hopefully we see you again soon!

When I am visiting Peterborough, I enjoy Kettle Drums. The food is good, the service efficient and the atmosphere pleasant. Anything on the menu is good, I have heard and the meals my wife and I and my sister and brother-in-law had were also rated delicious. I shall return!

Peterborough's finest venue for great food, fun and entertainment Riley's is the place to be in the Kawarthas. Under one roof we have it all; a great pub with lots of nooks and crannies; a comfortable fireplace lounge and a pool hall with lots of tables f
Pub food.Mainly deep fried faire. No frills.Generous portions. Food is what it is. Burgers... chicken chips.... Waited a while to be seated at the front of the place and served on what could only be considered a quiet night. Staff obviously had their own âsectionsâ and did not attend anything but their own. When served our waiter was knowledgeable about local beer and offered choices. Friendly.Thank you for your review. Sorry you found your visit just satisfactory.as that is not what our guests have come to expect from us. We hope you visit us again.

We had been the restaurant next door and I have always wanted to give this a try. I Iike the lay out of the place and friendly manner of the staff. The only downer was the bride wanted catfish, however they were out and they did not have any other fish option. She settle on a shrimp dish which she enjoyed. The corn soup was interesting. I had the pasta which heavy on the shrimp but light on the sausage and chicken, still a very tasty dish. The place is clean, staff is prompt and food is served hot. Would go again and recommend to others.

I have been to St. Veronus a handful of times and typically enjoy my experience. However, I attended for dinner with a friend (who I am introducing to various restaurants around town) and, although the food was delicious (as usual) the waitress that sat us was rude and impatient. Our waitress was friendly enough but also somewhat impatient. Since this was my second experience like this, I would not go back or further recommend this restaurant.

This smaller than I thought it would be was visited for the first time. We placed our name and waited for table at bar. Very good atmosphere at this point. We were seated on an outside table with what will likely be one of the remaining pleasant nights before itâs too cool. We had a variety of foods. Majority were good. A few of them were a bit too saucy and lack of taste - Carma. Nice restaurant on East City of Peterborough. Food is good. Price is good. Ale is very good.
