Located on the Golf Course this restaurant offers great food at reasonable prices. The only down fall is the decor. I would have given it 5 stars, however, the place needs total renovation. The ceiling tiles are stained needs new flooring and tables and chairs.Thursday night they offer prime rib in 3 sizes. Prime rib is pretty good considering the beachy area.

I believe that reviewers are confusing these two restaurants. The OI Sub Shop has wonderful, fresh, subs and salads. The Oak Island Deli is further down the street, on the opposite side, has a picnic table outside. Inside is a bar with several TVs playing sports, torn and dirty vinyl tablecloths and really bad food. The one positive thing I can say is that the iced tea is really delicious. My husband and I recently stopped in for the first time because of reviews, and were very disappointed. I ordered the daily special, a bowl of tomato soup and a grilled swiss and ham sandwich. The soup had a very funky, chunky consistency and was loaded with onion and not much tomato, and was watery. The sandwich was a slice of ham and a slice of cheese between two pieces of rye bread. We won't be back. We do love, though, the Sub Shop.

This was our first visit since the restaurant changed from The Flying Fish Cafe and we were not disappointed. They have changed the layout on the deck to include a bar which is great. We stopped around lunchtime for an appetizer and a couple of beers and then decided after seeing the menu we would come back later in the week for dinner. Sitting on the deck is very comfortable between the ocean breeze and the fans mounted on the walls to keep the air moving. Our food, which was fish tacos, shrimp nachos and loaded fries, was delicious. Note: the shrimp nachos are an appetizer but will easily feed 2 people. We will definitely return to KoKo Cabana on our next trip to OKI.

We enjoyed our time here. Very friendly and engaging staff. Nice beer selection. The oscar with crab meat, mashed potatoes and asparagus was a really nice meal. My wife's corvina was a first for her and she loved it. Broccoli fresh and done right for sure. Fresh ingredients make great meals! Thank you Kelly, Lexi and staff for a fun visit with great tasting food.

Atmosphere is awesome and service is always amazing. Love the entire menu and everyone is always so happy. Always hear lots of laughter and great beer selection. I love spending Sundays watching football and eating hot wings. Just a great place to go too! Also opened year around and great prices. Never disappointed. Great job Ed. High five to entire staff.

My wife and I were driving through and decided to stop here because we had read that the chicken wings here were quite good. True enough but let me be more clear. The wings here put national chain Buffalo Wild Wings to absolute shame. The chicken is plump, juicy, and crispy hot. Plus you have a wide variety of tasty seasonings and dips to choose from. Service was rushed because they were apparently short handed at the time of our visit, but earnest and friendly nonetheless. Weâll be back!TIP: If youâre an onion ring lover you MUST try them here: plump, juicy onions on the inside, and light crispy batter on the outside - some of the best weâve ever had!

Sorry to say our experience was much different then the majority of reviews. Four of us went in for a late lunch. Service was friendly. two at our table ordered the scallops and found them on the salty side. Shrimp Bowl was good. Biggest problem came with the shaved steak sandwich. Asked for it without cheese and horseradish sauce (fairly easy, right, meat and grilled onions). First came out with both cheese and sauce and was sent back. Came back second time drowning in the sauce and no onions. the waitress says, "Oh, I thought you said no onions" and the four of us were saying no I clearly stated what I wanted. At this point every one else had finished there meals, so I gave up and left hungry and very disappointed. We will not be back.

We heard some good things about Turtle Island so we decided to give it a try on our last night in town. Unfortunately we had to wait 1 1/2 hours with a 2 year old as couples and large groups continued to be seated before us. I'm not sure how Management organizes their seating priorities but they need to rethink it and actually put the customers needs first. We checked in as soon as we arrived and watched as other parties were seated ahead of us. If there is a backlog of people who called in to reserve a seat the Management staff should be able to tell the other customers who are patiently waiting that there is no way they will be seated. We were told several times after our 45 minute wait that we were next. After 90 minutes we gave up. No second chances will be given here.
