I went to Duke's with high hopes because I love the chef's other restaurant, Vonda's Kitchen. So seeing as this should be an upscale version of that, with live jazz as a bonus, I was expecting a great experience. Not so much.First, our server was very professional, introducing himself and shaking our hand. So I was expecting excellent service. Unfortunately that was not the case. While he was nice enough, it was just too difficult to find him when we needed him. There were so many occasions where he just kept passing our table. We wanted to ask a question regarding the menu, but couldn't flag him down. And it went on like this throughout our meal. It even took forever to get the check. Second, we had a surprise on the check. On the Open Table site it noted that there would be a cover charge after 7 pm. So I purposely made my reservation for 6:45 to avoid the charge. At other restaurants I've patronized that offer live music, they collect the cover charge at the door if you arrive after that time. I noticed that they charged the cover charge for everyone in our party on the check. And finally, and most important, the food. No one seemed to be in love with their food. My daughter ordered oxtails and she was extremely disappointed. She said they totally lacked flavor. I had the Lump crab and shrimp Jumbalaya and a side of mac and cheese. It was OK. Nothing to get excited about. And the food came out lukewarm at best. No one thought the food was worth the price being charged. Also the cocktails were quite pricey. A Blue Moon beer was $7. Unfortunately, this place was a bit of a disappointment and we won't likely return. On the positive side, they had a great jazz band playing so I can see coming here, paying the cover charge and having a drink at the bar to enjoy the music, just dine elsewhere before you come.

Stopped in prior to a Devil's game. Great beer selection. but that's about it. Food is pathetic. Asked for burger medium, it came out with a hole in it, welldone, with stale bread. The wurst was the biggest joke. 2 links that looked like they were cooked hours apart. No taste, no snap and the filling is minced to mush. Sad! And the topper was half way through my drink I noticed the glass had dried crap on the outside.

Classic Irish pub, great social atmosphere, with the usual selection of refreshments on hand. Great selection of beer and cider on draft. Extensive menu really a cut above typical pub fare.

I had a week in Newark in May and made Belloâs my regular lunchtime spot for a few beers and lunch. Great bar with Awesome Bar-staff, Peggy, Tina & Corrina who always made an English Man welcome! Good food, Great Beer, Great Staff and friendly locals. Busy lunchtime crowd and packed on a couple of evening visits. Lots of Sports on TV and soccer memorabilia, scarfs etc on the ceiling. Red Bull Arena is walkable from the bar. Highly recommended if in Newark!

Needed a place to eat with 2 small children before we left the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Children's choices were A+ according to the kids, and healthy. Our meals were yummy. They were gluten free friendly. We were able to have a drink, and the shuttle took us back to the train. It made a great stop. Thank you!

Food was good, brisket tasty and the fried green tomatoes yummy. Venue is casual and comfortable and overall it was a great evening with my family. Although location is not fabulous, it's relatively safe. I would go again.

Krug's is family owned and operated since 1932. We are currently 4 generations and running strong. We were voted "Best Burger" in NJ in 2015 by The Star Ledger.
If youâre craving a great burger at a great price, then this is the place you want to beâ¦.Period. Yes, Iâve had many excellent burgers throughput the US, but also paid substantially more for them. This is the best burger for its price, hands- down. Twelve (12) ounces of fresh beef, cooked to order, on a little-wee grill from behind the bar. A must visit in NJ if you take your burgers seriously. Chicken wings, fried shrimp and other items make up their limited menu, none of which will disappoint you. Shame on you if you donât stop by after reading their reviews...craving a burger right now.

Had pre concert drinks and Tapas on Saturday early evening. Place has great atmosphere feels very European and owner is very nice guy. Tapas is really good, very authentic and no frills. Had patatas bravas, octopus, chorizo, croquettes and cheeses. All simple and tasty. Highly recommended
