Quite a small but very pretty venue. Had a cajun BLT burger which was a huge whole seasoned breast with lovely salad including green tomatoes, wonderful black back bacon from Woburn and a huge dollop of soft goats cheese. The skin on chips were piping hot, big portion and very crispy. Their sticky toffee desert was divine and finished off a superb meal. Thank you.

The Cross Key country pub & kitchen is set on the outskirts of kempston, giving you fantastic food in lovely surroundings
Ordered Confit Duck Bonbons, which came with Peashoot and spring onion garnish and plum dressing. The dark green sliced top of one spring onion was very mean, no white onion or pale green. Needed more garnish, in fact whole starter was very small for the price. My wife had a Spiced hummus, which was very bland with a few bits of stale Pitta bread. All in all a very underwhelming experience.

If you like fried food visit hereThere is not one healthy thing on the menuFried fried fried nothing elseUnbelieveable how foodies rate this placeIf you enjoy this place good for youIf you like a nice meal with quality foodWell you donât visit hereBut after all itâs your choice Not mineWould never return to the fried food paradiseChips chips chips We review our reviews very carefully and we are at a loss with this one.In this instance tripdog 1 you have been grossly unfair to our little business. Our menu is certainly not all about fried foods. We have some dishes that are fried but that is because they wouldn't taste as nice if cooked in the oven. And surely good flavour and textures are what our customers are looking for. There is no sin in frying some dishes and we have never had anyone complain that there are too many fried foods on our menu so your comments are strange and overly unkind. And "chips, chips, chips ??? You only have chips if you want them. There are many other alternatives to choose from on our menu. Did you read our menu ? You can have a delicious creamed mash potato, cous cous or even coconut rice as your carb of choice or why not try a salad ? We have many healthy options on offer including our extensive vegan menu. Our chefs have been working on our new winter menu which is coming out this Friday ( 27th September ) which will have delicious healthy dishes for everyone. Some fried, some roasted, some grilled. What a pity you'll miss it.

Traditional village pub serving good quality home cooked food, also a good selection of real ales. We are dog friendly so you can bring your canine friends and give them a free treat from the bar.We have a pie night every Tuesday where you can have a home
as we entered the restaurant we could see that it was heaving with people which is always a good sign and we were not disappointed in the least.the only negative I found was we had to pick what we wanted from a special board so we literally had to stand behind people that were eating to see what was on.i felt somewhat bit uncomfortable and I could see the people eating felt the same.the last time we visited there were menus on each table so I don't really understand why that idea went.going back to the lunch we both had the roast lamb was absolutely delicious and so tender.the whole meal was one of the best.there was no way we could have a dessert which was a shame as we were so full up.its always so friendly in there and the owner can't do enough for you.we would definitely go back and we live in irchester.as I've always said when I find an excellent place to eat we will travel and for us this is one of the top onesThank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed the food and I have noted your points about the blackboard. Monday to Saturday we have a normal and full menu but the specials are still on the board. We have tried printing the specials and Sunday menus and it proved difficult to keep them up to date as items sold out. Maybe we need to rethink about the printing option or even just the position of the board.Thank you again for your constructive and helpful feedback.

17th Century Pub Restaurant specialising in Simply Fresh Food, including Daily Deliveries of Fresh Fish & Quality Aberdeen Angus Beef
We have dined at The Old Swan four times now and it is a pleasure to write that each experience has been consistently excellent for three especial reasons. First, the building is a charming old village pub with original features â it is happily unostentatious making a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.Secondly, a key ingredient is Phil who owns the business with his wife and works the front of the house â he is a delightful host. Philâs abundant passion for food, drink, and customer service leadership shows throughout the team. The service is excellent.Thirdly, the menu is a delight. It includes some restaurant classics, notably a very decent 'Prawn Cocktail' thatâs so 1970s it probably back in fashion for many of the diners it pre-dates! Though, best of all is the fresh fish blackboard that varies depending upon the latest delivery. So far, we have enjoyed: skate, gilt-head bream, lemon sole and swordfish â each of which was superbly cooked.Drinks-wise there is an excellent selection of beer, particularly the London Pride, and a decent wine list with something for everyone's taste. The Old Swan is equally suitable for business entertaining, families, and couples. The âonlyâ draw-back, the venue is so popular you'll struggle to get a table at short notice! This is one of the very few independently well-run restaurants in the Milton Keynes area. If you haven't been, go!
