We boast a varied and extensive menu with a superb daily carvery right at the heart what we do. The carvery is freshly prepared and offers a choice of three succulent meats carved by our friendly chefs, temptingly displayed alongside a wide range of seaso
Stopped in Red Squirrel whilst visiting Troon for one night. Accomodation is in separate block from reception / restaurant which is OK if weather is good but it was a bit cold and wet when we visited. Overall impression was that there was a lack of staff in all areas. Had a short wait for check-in but had to wait ages for drinks at bar. Asked for table for four and carvery for meal. This was very nearly exhausted by 6.45pm. We were told that Friday nights are always very busy but the restaurant was less than half full for most of the evening. Quality of food was a bit below average. The only saving grace was the price which was on the low side. Had Tried to book this hotel on-line but Marstons website advised no rooms available for our date. Tried to phone direct but could not get answer. Rooms had to be booked via Booking.com. Website and subsequent welcoming email said we could have 20% off food if we were staying at hotel but hotel did not respond to my request to honour this. The staffing issue continued at breakfast when only one member of staff took orders, delivered them to table from kitchen and supplied tea and coffee (in between dealing with queries at the bar). There were approximately 30 guests at breakfast. This member of staff was very kind and courteous. Paid £85.00 for B&B which is quite high compared with other hotels during our trip.

Having eaten here before and enjoyed the food and the ambience, I had no hesitation in booking it for a family meal. What a mistake. The welcome and service was good but the meal was a disaster. Three of our party opted for the Sunday roast. What they were served was an unpalatable meal of tasteless meat with a very salty sauce poured over it, roast potatoes which were hard on the outside but with no real content inside and a horrible taste. The Yorkshire puddings were burnt and solid. How any chef could allow this to leave their kitchen is beyond me. I had a flat iron steak which was well cooked but too heavily seasoned, ruining the meal. My four year old grandson opted for the pizza which he could design himself. He put cheese, ham and sweetcorn on but five minutes after everyone else had been served there was no sign of his meal. His mother alerted the staff and a further five minutes passed before a pizza appeared. However it wasn't the one he had designed and contained ingredients my grandson won't eat. It turns out that they had burnt the original pizza and had just thrown another one on. The three Sunday roast dinners went back with most of the food still on the plate. Due to the fact that it was a birthday celebration they had tried to eat them and not cause a fuss but in hindsight should have sent them back immediately. To be fair to the front of house staff they were very good and we had money taken off of our bill which was good but really didn't help the fact that the day was ruined. Perhaps the poor food explains why the place was very quite. Having enjoyed meals here before and recomennded it to others it was disappointing and I certainly won't be back.Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I would like to take the opportunity to apologise again for our shortcomings on this occasion. This was not upto our usual high standards. RegardsPaul

We have recently took over the operation of this premises, Home currently serves burger menu only, however from Friday the 7th August we will be serving a 2 and 3 course set menu for £6.95 and £8.95 along with our burger selection. With a full menu change
Three of us arrived for lunch. Ordered 3 steak baguettes 2 with chips. Meals arrived very quickly. Well presented and full of steak strips and some onions. Chips crispy and tasty(unusual nowadays). Young lady long dark hair who delivered meal was friendly as was man behind bar. Excellent value for money surprised how quiet it was (pity). Have been before a few times and am always impressed with meals and prices here. Perhaps menu could be a little more comprehensive but maybe its quality of food and not choice that's important really. Will be back again and keep on serving the generous portions at these prices please !!!

A surprisingly nice bar inside. The outside does not do it justice. Inside is very trendy, smart furniture, nicely decorated, great lighting and a very well stocked bar. I like the place and would definitely go back.

The Ship Inn is a traditional pub which dates back to the 1500s. It was here that Robert Burns found that his poetry was more than just a hobby and the proprietor Charles Hamilton helped fund Burns first publication. We have been a family run business wit

Popped into Pop Inn for lunch and was not disappointed. The food is amazing and the menu is varied. Husband and I had daily special which started with cream of chicken soup which was amazing followed by loaded potato skins with chilli. Would definitely recommend and the staff are also very good.

Great food, friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere with a bar and a conservatory-type restaurant to relax in. A well stocked bar and, as I mentioned, good food make it a popular countryside location to visit. I good weather I believe you can also eat out in the garden. Well worth a visit!
Went for a quick bar lunch. The menu was fine with the usual pub grub choices. The food was decent enough. It's not expensive so you really get what you pay for but is worth a visit.

A relaxed and stylish destination in the heart of Kilwinning, The new-look Corner House will offer all day eating and drinking in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
Really busy restaurant which I always say is a good sign and so it proved. Service was quick efficient and attentive. Had smoked fish, black pudding fritter topped with poached egg. Main course roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings including a massive Yorkâs pudding. Overcharged for one glass of wine and when pointed out apology given and two glasses deducted from bill which was another good touch. Well worth a visit and will be back.
