The Coledale is a 20 bedroom country Inn with Restaurant and beer garden. Set in a peaceful location overlooking Braithwaite village we are the perfect place to enjoy great pub food with friends and family. Dogs are welcome. Local real ales and open fires
My second visit here was with a friend after walking from Rosthwaite on the Inn Way again. We had a pleasant pint in the garden area, but were not tempted enough by what we saw to stay to dine.

Located on a bustling pedestrian street in the heart of Keswick, close to the busy market square and shores of Lake Derwentwater, Cafe Bar 26 is a relaxed Mediterranean style cafe bistro by day and a vibrant wine and cocktail bar in the evening with a uni
You check-in via Facebook which is a little unconventional but it was just what we required, a room only with ensuite shower which gave us maximum freedom. The room was regularly stocked with tea, coffee and milk and the towels changed and beds made which made us feel appreciated. The staff were friendly and efficient. The Cafe bar downstairs was a bonus for an early evening drink with trendy fashionable surrounding and great beers and cocktails. Their main feature was a vegan/vegetarian menu which they should have plastered across the windows!

The White Horse Inn and Bunkhouse is a cosy Inn located at the foot of Blencathra a few miles outside Keswick near Threlkeld. Real fires, fantastic local ale, British pub food and a warm welcome. We are also dog friendly.
We visited the White Horse Inn for an evening meal whilst camping in the local area. All 3 meals we ordered were excellent and I have to say the Steak & Ale Pie was exceptional. Tender meat, tasty gravy, great pastry - would definitely recommend it.The pub itself was also good, staff very friendly and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

Great food!! The roast Lamb I had, cooked to perfection, great selection of seasonal veg and plenty of it. My favourite being the gravy, real Lamb taste, thick, in fact it's making me hungry right now. My partner had the Beef, which I had the opportunity to try, again superb.

The oldest hotel in Keswick, a return visit for our 35years anniversary, not much changed. Friendly helpful staff good bar and very good food. Free parking pass to use a shot walk from hotel. Great location centre if Keswick. Bedroom comfortable quaint and clean, good size bathroom hope when they refurbish out in a bigger shower and a larger tv a must. Why did we wait 35 years to return ? See you soon .

This review covers two visits. Overall still a 5 star review but one visit was better than the others. Had dinner on Saturday night and the food was really lovely. Hearty, tasty and plentiful- just what you need after a day on the fells. Went back in for Sunday lunch on Sunday (obvs!) and given the standard of food from the night before it was a bit disappointing. Under-seasoned. The roast potatoes were literally whole potatoes so were too big to be really crispy and roasted. Bit disappointing but after going up skiddaw we were ravenous so we cleared plates anyway but perhaps a bit more care required on the Sunday food.Thank you for your 5 'star' review. So pleased you had such lovely meals with us on the Saturday...the chefs have seem you comments. They are a little disappointed, as I am, that we didn't quite hit the note on the Sunday. Some of the roast potatoes were left too large when roasting off We were short staffed this Sunday however that is not an excuse and your point has been taken on board. We do apologise. Thanks again and hope you will call in again next time on the fells.Michelle(owner)

Please note that we do not take bookings.
We were visiting Keswick for the day and decided to try the food here. The weather was rather wet, so we were glad to go somewhere cosy and inviting. The food was amazing, we tried the pizza and tapas menus. All the food was cooked well and really tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We were impressed that the chef cooked all the food in a small area behind the bar and we didn't have to wait long for it to arrive either. There was a bookshelf that had stories and colouring books/stickers to keep our three year old entertained too. Overall, a fantastic dinner and we hope to be back again soon. Thanks again. Thanks Jonny for such a nice review :) Weâre so glad you found cozy comfort in our small cafe bar.....It even amazes me sometimes what they do in that kitchen (if you can call it that ) They really do send out some stunning dishes! & itâs just what you need on a wet & windy day in the lakes.....beer, board games & good food! Really hope youâll be visiting us again soon :) Many thanks,Genna
