Visited this spot on 6/27. The wife and I wanted a beer and to relax and listen to the waves crashing in. This was a great spot for that. We didn't order any food, just beers and a mai tai. Great mai tai. Beer special wasnt that great. The 'mug' was super tiny. Definitely not the same as what we get here in Milwaukee. Waitress was friendly and attentive. I'd recommend this place for a quick stop with a great view.

We went here for breakfast because it was near our hotel. You have a great view of the Pacific as you eat your meal. They have breakfast until 2 with lots of menu choices. They also have many other choices for lunch and dinner plus Happy Hour runs from 2-6. Their drink prices were reasonable even though I donât know how much alcohol was actually in the glass. Hey, it was a late breakfast plus it was 5:00 somewhere. The food was really good, and it was plentiful. Our server recommended the biscuit as a side to my husband, and then I wished I had gotten one because it was delicious. We may go back tomorrow before we get on the plane.

My title sums it up. Perfect place to watch people and the ocean. Tasty food and beverages. Super friendly staff that don't make you feel you have to drink/eat and rush out meaning they aren't pushy. Happy hour starts at 2:30p - good happy hour menu options. 4 beers (husband), 2 cocktails (me), chips/salsa, and garlic Parmesan fries. Bill ~$56 (not incl tip). Would definitely go back. Gets busy at night!

The four of us stopped here for lunch. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered a quesadilla that consisted of chicken, cheese, tomato and jalapeno peppers. It was the best quesadilla I have ever had. It was enormous, however, so you might consider sharing it with someone. The place has free Wi-Fi too. Prices were extremely reasonable.

Opened in 1998 in the waterfront location adjacent to Huggo's fine dining restaurant, On the Rocks is a come as you are, kau kau (eat) great food with sand between your toes, kick back and enjoy great island entertainment center of fun on Hawaii Island. "
When in Kona our hotel is next door, so we have passed by dozens of times and never stopped to eat, although I'm not sure why. On this occasion we did and sitting under the shade of a large umbrella, on a typical sunny day, with our feet on the sand filled raised patio, we ordered a late lunch. By the time we had finished happy hour was upon us and so we stayed a while longer. We had a great lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our relaxed visit, watching out over the ocean. I guess we've been missing out and we will definitely return. We are so happy you stopped in to see us, thank you for sharing your experience. Happy Hour is daily from 3pm - 5pm, we look forward to seeing you again! Cheers!

âUMEKEâ is the Hawaiian word for âbowl.â At any Umekeâs eating establishment, a majority of menu items are designed to be served in bowls. Owner and Head Chef Nakoa Pabre is a seasoned professional who takes pride in giving customers the freshest, most ex
Firstly, I wasn't expecting this place to be a sports bar so that was kind of disappointing. Secondly, we were SO looking forward to this poke - but the poke we'd bought at the local supermarket (Foodland in Waikoloa) was way better than Umeke's. The fish tacos were also good but nothing special. Pretty disappointed as we were expecting this place to be really good! The staff was, on the other hand, amazing! Very friendly and helpful.Aloha,Thank you for your honest review. We feel sorry that you did not enjoy your meal with us. This is not the normal experience one should have at our restaurants. What makes our poke and seafood dishes so special is that we only serve the freshest fish from Hawaiian waters, with each batch of poke made in small portions to ensure the highest quality and freshness. We incorporate both traditional Hawaiian recipes and also infuse popular local dishes with modern twists. Umekes has received numerous awards for our poke and seafood dishes, and have even been featured on a few Food Network TV shows. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve or if you could provide further details about your negative experience, we would love to hear your thoughts as we are always looking to improve. If you could please email [email protected] we would sincerely appreciate your input. We hope you will give us another chance someday soon,Umekes Management Team

Fresh from the land and sea around the big of Hawai'i, we offer locally sourced food for your enjoyment.
We come to Kona quite frequently as my husband is with the airlines. We have always loved Fosters, they are sliding downhill. Last night it took 15 minutes for a server to acknowledge us. They were out of two of the four âfall specialsâ. Out of one of the local fish, out of 3 other things we tried to order. Many of the menu items havenât changed in years and they canât plan to have adequate quantities? They seem to be falling on the laurels since they were featured on food network and need to up their game to deliver what they tout.

Watched the 10 minute Kona Coffee Lantern Parade from the restaurant. Located right where the lantern parade started. Great crab cakes, aloi sauce too spicy for me but good. Good tea drink, just didn't taste the booze. Friendly staff where you were even asked by manager if food ok. Haven't been asked that in many years at a restaurant.

Kailua-Kona on Hawaiiâs Big Island is the site of our brewery and first restaurant. The brewpub opened in November 1998. In true Aloha spirit, we opted to make it out of locally-sourced materials, and we even built a 2,000 square-foot outdoor lanai that l
Great food, amazing beer and a fun environment to enjoy it all in! Highly recommend! The Lemon Grass is my personal favorite, if you canât decide though the flight of four is always a great choice!
