The food here was fabulous! KaâU Fish (Nairagi) was the fresh catch and it was one of the best fish plates Iâve ever had on the Island! It was really tasty and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I double-checked with a guidebook, it said that this restaurant serves "consistently good food". Confirming this. Not only good food but also really good cocktails. There is not "hit or miss" here. Everything is really really good. My top award from the last trip to Hawaii island. Recommend crusted mahi mahi and mai tai cocktail.

We enjoyed great Island cocktails and a fresh Tuna Poke appetizer, followed by a delicious shrimp entree.The manager stopped by and gave us a free round of champagne because the kitchen was a little backed up. Enjoyed their take on Caesar Salad and Rack of Lamb although over cooked. The purple sweet potato side about stole the show. Service was very polite and sweet but ran slow... waited for drinks, appetizers, and main course... all waiting longer than considered normal. I asked for medium lamb but served well done... didnât send back because I was told I was lucky to get the last order. Thereâs parking across the street. The four of us had a very enjoyable dinner at Foster's. The fish & chips were fresh and tasty the Large Garden salad was also very fresh with local greens and my daughter loved the Green Garlic Shrimp with Quinoa. The service was friendly and helpful in accommodating our gluten-free requests. The atmosphere is very pleasant; the second-floor dining room is large and open to the street below. Good job great meal.

Watched the 10 minute Kona Coffee Lantern Parade from the restaurant. Located right where the lantern parade started. Great crab cakes, aloi sauce too spicy for me but good. Good tea drink, just didn't taste the booze. Friendly staff where you were even asked by manager if food ok. Haven't been asked that in many years at a restaurant.

We had good food here, but the absolute highlight was the PÄhoa lava museum next door. It is run by local volunteers who have been displaced or affected by the 2018 eruption. Because it is run by volunteers it doesnât have set opening hours but the curator happens to run the local art gallery as well and overheard us talking and opened it up foe us and another couple eating at the next table. The 30-45 minutes we spent there were the most informative Iâve ever had at a museum because they were personal accounts by people affected not just during the eruption but also the ongoing issues they have today. Mother Nature always wins in the end:)

We are craft beer lovers and our trip wouldn't have been complete with a stop here. Sit outside as the have huge umbrellas and plenty of shade. Be sure to make you selection from the batch list as these are only served at the brewery. Even the food was really good. Thanks Charmaine for the great service.

Nice place, with pineapples decorations and live music.Food is mostly local and very good. I actually chose to have the Hilo plate, which I really enjoyed. You'd better have a reservation because the place is crowded and you might have to wait otherwise.Prices are ok.

You would never know it from the outside but this place is fantastic. Funky little place in Waimea. Ate here for lunch and loved the atmosphere and the food. BBQ was authentic but had a few Hawaiian twists that made it fun and delicious.
