Very slow service to order our food and drink. The food was very average. The waitresses were not well informed by the kitchen, first of all the food ordered was on the menu, then it had been sold out so other dishes were ordered and then it appeared by magic on our table.Dear Rover5960, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback after your recent visit to us. I am sorry that your visit was not up to standards and we seem to have missed the mark this time. Our team are normally very well informed regarding stock control within the kitchen and this was an unfortunate miscount from the team. I hope that you will visit us again in the future.Kind regardsLauren

Had a lovely pub lunch here today. Atmosphere in the pub was quite cosy, my husband had the scampi lunch menu and I had a burger - tasty food nicely presented and reasonably priced. Biggest problem was parking - 30 minutes only if parked outside but we did just manage it. I would come back here again.

The newly refurbished Nelson Tavern is now serving a locally sourced menu, cooked fresh by our experienced gastro chef. Family and dog friendly, Cask Ales, Sunday Roasts, and a Friendly atmosphere.
Visited early on a Sunday evening in August. We were a bit worried as the Nelson wasnât too busy! However, food was excellent....roasts especially! Nice selection of beers and wines. Desserts to die for. The welcome that we received was very good and were made to feel like locals. Well worth a visit.

Firstly myself & partner have been to this site quite a number of times in the past few months to take advantage of the 2 for 1 meerkat offer through compare the market. As we was in the area we thought we'd treat our 8 year old daughter to a sunday lunch. We arrived at 14:30/15:00 on the sunday, as we was seated by the manager. I asked a member of staff what roasts were available in reply there was only lamb left available, on a quiet sunday at that time seemed pretty ridiculous that's all what was left.I asked if there was any colouring stuff for kids as advertised by the entrance, they said there wasnt any crayons and HR wouldn't let them go across the road to buy some out of the petty cash from pound land & had been waiting weeks for some to come.Once we had ordered our food it wasnt long before our drinks had arrived shortly followed by our starters. We noticed that the veggie sticks looked a bit strange. The carrots and cucumber were floppy and dry looked like they had been out in the heat for over a day. We asked for a replacement. While we was waiting my partner who had just recently given birth to our 4 week old son bit into the lamb kofta on the sharing plating instantly spat it back out to find it was raw in the middle, not just pink but raw. I cut into the next one to find it more raw then the other. As the waiter returned with the veggie sticks. We informed him of the lamb being raw. He took them to the kitchen to return with the manager who we informed of the two issues who kindly said he remove them from our bill. They cleared the starter plates and we waited for the mains.I'd ordered the double burger, little one kids chicken and my partner the beef and pancetta lasagne. She cut straight through the middle to find it stone cold. She asked me to try it and it wasnt even at body temperature.By law we are required to serve food if reheated to 83c and if hot held, hold a consistent temperature of no lower then 63c for no more then 2 hours. It is clear to say that attention to detail and probe checks are not being done here. The sheer neglect by the kitchen manager and cooks is obvious. The lasagne was reheated in the microwave which returned with burn Mark's round the edge. Not the best but service by front of house was top notched

We visited while staying in the New Forest for the weekend and weâre not disappointed. This is certainly not just âpub grubâ. The service and the food were absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend the âDippy Egg Soldiersâ and the mussels- absolutely delicious and amazingly presented. The pub was extremely friendly and lively and incredibly welcoming of dogs. We will be back!

Welcome to the Toby Carvery Hinton. When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings - including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely
We will never come back to this place.....food is awful.... I can't believe people think this place is good. I do have some good points carvery meat ok but not fantastic..bad points. potatoes dry, mash salty, veg bland peas dry. Tea and coffee terrible for the price. Sharer tasting platter chicken dry, stuffing dry and over cooked, pigs in blankets interesting as not the flavour you would expect. Had to have some cake and a coffee back home just to reignite the taste buds.Honestbreview, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but we would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around.

Our new light & airy brasserie and pub complete with a lovely large garden will be the perfect destination for leisurely lunches, delicious dinners, Sunday roasts or just a tipple or two
A return visit for myself and my husband and youngest son and girlfriend; first time visit for my sister and partner and eldest son and girlfriend. All agreed fabulous decor, friendly, helpful staff, super service and amazing meals. However, there seemed to be a shortage of bread or very small slices of 'baguettes'served with both the amazing cheesy starter and the mussels. It was felt that you could not really soak up the wonderful sauce or the cheese on the starter. Think we will definitly return but may be popping into the bakery opposite first... More bread please sir - 5 star rating then! Thanks for the review CAD1961!Delighted you enjoyed the experience, as for the bread...we will always give more if requested!Best wishes,Will
