We dropped by here for lunch on Saturday. The Boar's Head sign caught our eye. Let me just say first that the food was great .The service was excellent given her unfortunate circumstances. The poor server was literally all by herself. The owner needs to really think about new customers and worry less about his "regulars" ! Having one person run the entire place on a Saturday lunch is a business disaster. While we were there 8 guests walked out because the service was lacking, again not her fault. That young lady did the absolute best she could. I contemplated jumping in to help her. Bottom line here is by under staffing you lost more business than saved money. This review should have been an excellent rating unfortunately the staffing issue that day needs to catch the attention of the owner's. I just want to reiterate that the young lady running the whole place Saturday for lunch was awesome and did the absolute best she could.

This was my second visit, and I again ordered the Hampton Eggs Benedict, which add crab to the usual ingredients. We also tried the clam chowder, more of a broth than a cream-based soup but very flavorful. We'll be back!

Taphouse is a nice place to grab a casual lunch/dinner and have a few beers. They are not pretentious and the menu offers mostly sandwiches and burgersâ¦although they might have a seafood dinner as a daily special. Beer selection is very good and service is friendly. The crab cake sandwich was tasty. Live music on some evenings.

Farm to table comfort foods, local VA Craft brews and signature cocktails in a warm relaxed environment. A true experience located in historic Phoebus, Hampton, VA.
We like to support local businesses. Since there was a groupon available, we decided to give this place another try. We arrived for lunch with only 2 tables occupied. The service was not good. We had trouble getting information about the beer on tap and pricing. The fried oysters, we ordered arrived perfectly prepared with a nice remoulade. Our shrimp and grits was already split in the kitchen which was very nice. Howeverit was the worst shrimp and grits we ever had. All the ingredients were there but the execution was terrible and it ended up to a broth with undercooked grits. We had to ask for a spoon because it was difficult to eat with a fork. Our lunch without beverages was $45. This was not a $45 lunch.

Grass Fed and Finished Burgers, BBQ, 20 Draft Beers, Hard Floats, Live Music, Patio Dining. Downtown Hampton Virginia.
Brown Chicken Brown Cow is heavy on BBQ items. Mine was served on a platter with sauce on the side rather than baked in. It was good though not outstanding. The seasoned fries were excellent, but my favorite thing I had here was the boozy float, an ice cream float with alcoholic root beer that really adds a nice kick to a great dessert drink.

An abandoned waterfront Fish Shack. An audacious idea. Hot dogs, hamburgers, craft beer and a simple philosophy...exceed expectations and embrace community. A rustic gathering spot for all walks of life.
The family headed over for a quick lunch.Wow! The place was busy and we know why. My daughter had the shrimp po boy and raved. Hubby had the mac daddy dog and it's his new favorite.I wanted the fish tacos, but they were out. So, I opted for the alligator sausage with relish and grilled onions. I was not disappointed with my second choice and definitely recommend with a side of beans. They offer adult beverages in cans, served in can cozies to keep the drinks cool as most people sit on the porch. This place is right next to the boat dry dock, there is always a line of people. It's worth the wait.

I ate here with a large party for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in late July. Parking was convenient, and service was good. The beer selection was decent, with lots of local craft brews on the menu. I ordered the french dip sandwich, which was flavorful, and the au jus was more like gravy, very good, but a little unexpected. Prices were fair and reasonable. Would definitely return if I were in the area again.

We stopped in here after visiting Fort Monroe. The place is nothing to look at but the reviews on Trip Advisor were so good we decided to try it. The sign on the building is faded, so it was hard to find. But the search was well worth it. I was torn between clam strips and flounder, and our waiter told us that it was Big Fish Friday, so definitely flounder. It had to be some of the freshest, sweetest flounder I have ever been served. And it was truly big. My husband had the fish sandwich and the fish hung over the bun on both ends by 4 inches. The atmosphere was great and our waiter was attentive and very good.

My wife and I had the pull pork sandwich and two sides, mine was beans and potato salad. Sandwich had chunks of gristle. Small bowls of potato salad had hard chunky potatoes and beans had a odd smoky taste. Food server's street clothing was dirty with stains. Price was higher than worth. For same price could have gone to a real steak house. Will not be returning.
