Came for lunch and welcomed by a warm fire. Very pleasant landlord who was happy to chat. Great, prompt service of bangers and mash with outstanding onion gravy. I had a baguette with salad and fries which again was good all washed down with a couple of cokes. Would definitely return to try something else off the menu...

Leigh and his Team make every visit to the Holly Blue a real pleasure. They are all helpful, friendly and attentive, the food is great and the ambience has that 'buzz' of people enjoying themselves. The recent makeover has made the place look fresh and clean. We love it here and have our Sunday roast every week as we canât get better value if we cooked it ourselves. Highly recommended!Hi AliYou have made our day. What wonderful comments and we are all so pleased that you enjoy coming to visit us.Thank you for your support.Best wishesLeigh

Traditional Harvey's community pub, serving home-made food on Sundays (currently under new management and food offering will be expanded in the coming months - keep an eye on our website). Log fires in winter, large beer garden, car park. Dog-friendly.
Not sure where to have a lunch to celebrate our 51st Anniversary and decided rather than driving around making a choice decided to keep it all local .Had noticed clapper board several times earlier stating carvery will be served on Sundays 1200-1600 and booking recommended. On off chance popped in at around 1230 to find pleasant dining area with couple tucking in.Sat down and were given menu-choices of 2 roasts with veg and next page were the puddings displayed.Had a traditional roast beef with Yorkshire plus 4 veg-if wanted more veg just ask very obliging owner and staff..Choice of drinks were very good-as one would expect from a Harveys.Waddled home very contented and highly recommend you try it out yourselves!!The menu proudly advertised who the local suppliers were for their meat/vegetables-praise indeed .Well worth having one of the steamed puds served with plenty of custard-you could have ice cream instead. Not seen that before and nice touch. The cut of the joint was superb and melted in ones mouth.Get on over yourselves and enjoy good old fashioned grub in pleasant surroundings-even has spacious garden at rear .Adequate car parking spaces.Hello and thank you for taking the time to write a review about us. We're so glad you enjoyed your visit; we take every care to make our guests' experiences memorable - for the right reasons :-) and we hope you'll come to visit us again soon. Helen (landlady) and the team.

Located on the Chalvington Road away from habitation it is easy to assume you have missed this pub. It was surprisingly quiet on a Friday lunchtime so we was found a comfortable spot and were served quite quickly. Good well cooked standard meals at a fair price. Staff friendly. There is even a cricket ground at the rear of the pub and a marquee for events. Good find.

Although this pub does not offer a âtraditionalâ Sunday lunch in the true sense of the word, I had the roast lamb which was incredibly tender, no fat and extremely tasty. It was a popular choice as several diners selected the same and there were clean plates all round. Will certainly return for another Sunday lunch

Casual quality dining at an affordable price in a traditional english country pub
What a lovely gem of a country pub. Unspoilt by the modern rat race. Matt the landlord is a smashing bloke, the Thai food is superb and The Harveys Best is every bit as good as Black Boys Inn, which is the yardstick as far as Harveys is concerned...

I really like the atmosphere of this restaurant. Everyone is friendly. Have visited on 3 separate occasions. The steak burger was very tasty. The fish slightly dry and tasteless. Also served on a piece of wood. While this looked good it was very hard to eat from. Sadly the chicken caesar salad was absolutely let down by the obscene amount of mayonnaise that was used. I cant even contemplate the thought of mayonnaise in my life ever again. So sad, I will have to find somewhere else to eat with my friends

The Kings Head is a friendly family run pub, just on the outskirts of Hailsham, East Sussex. Serving an extensive British menu, head chef Louisa Weaver has put seasonality at the heart of her cooking. Louisa is particularly passionate about sourcing local
Visited the Kings Head for food (staying elsewhere). Nice choice on the menu and specials available. Maybe a little pricy for standard of food presentation and ambiance but what we had was tasty.
