Our hotel had a shuttle that dropped guests off at the Arpora end of Baga Beach. As soon as you hit the beach, staff from the literally dozens of beach shacks tout for your business, all free sunbeds and promising great comfort in exchange for buying the odd drink, perhaps a meal or snack and maybe partaking in a neck massage or pedicure. A quick scan soon shows the more popular shacks and a quick look at the TripAdvisor best beach shacks on Baga leads you to the Shining Star. Needless to say it is also one of the busiest and although it became our go to shack on one occasion we had to go elsewhere because they had no sunbeds free. The sunbeds are a little crammed together but the staff will move the umbrellas to keep you in or out of the sun as you wish. The staff are very friendly and not at all pushy, the beds have clean towels and the food in the shack is very good and reasonably priced.We had what they call laffi rolls but others call Kathi Rolls and they were very generous portions (one would serve two for lunch). It was so busy you knew the food was fresh and although we didn't get back at night for the BBQ I was told that was also excellent by another guest. The beach is so long you need to find a shack that is close by to where you are coming on the beach so for this part of Baga I recommend the Shining Star.

Visited this place on a warm October afternoon with my family and one another. Had visited this place purely basis it's reputation and unlike a lot of other places, the Fisherman's Wharf does justice to itself. Everything we ordered was just perfect in terms of both quality and quantity. On top of it the service was quick and the staff pretty friendly.We tied the following:1. Chicken Mexicano2. Drums of Heaven3. Chicken Munchow Soup4. Chicken Wanton Soup5. Chicken Cafreal6. Goan Sanna (Rice Cake)7. Mocktail - Midnight in Movie, No Ice Drink and Monkeyboy CosmosThe best part is that the food doesn't burn a hole in the pocket. We paid less than 4K for all this and the rotis. So totally worth the money.If you are in Goa, don't miss this place at all.Dear Guest,It pleases us immensely that you had such a great experience at The Fishermanâs wharf. Great night here on a wednesday , great music , dance night, advisable to book as it is very busy , food was ok, as were the drinks , everyone had a great night , at one point there was some half wit danceing whilst cuddling a dog , what a sherbet, but a great night , will be back for sure

I visited this place for the second time and would want to go back again and again. Tino the owner specially takes personal interest in recommending the most delicious goan preparations specially made from his very own mothers home made masalas. Everything that you eat is either great or outstanding. The crab calamari goa sausage pork vindaloo prawn rava fry I can go on and on and on. One of the reasons for me to stay around Benaulim is three kisses.Thanks for your review. So glad that you liked the food. See you again.....

We visited the lazy goose on a lazy saturday afternoon with two hungry kids only to realize they had an hour long waiting and we were without a reservation.Rather then turn us away, they went out of their way to accomodate us, "with little kids we wont let you them go away hungry" and that sums up the warmth and character of a place.The live music set the mood and the food captured it, guess these are the things that keep them busy, but its their human touch that makes them coveted.Thanks guys! A lovely Restaurant with nice clean Toilets and Premises. Excellent food and Service. Nice tasty food although quite spicy for some tastes so ask for mild if in doubt. Quite a busy place so may need to book in advance. Prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable.

We came to Alex shack after hearing all the wonderful reviews. We can not understand why possibly just loyal customers who have not tried else where . The food was terrible the worst we had in any shack, atmosphere lacking with no welcome although the regulars were being attended to . The shack itself is very plain nothing pretty about it to make you want to go either. Was disappointed after the hype we had heard and a few other couples we met in candolim also said same that they had visited and wouldnât return this year . Was a shame. They came with no expectations and loved it. And far as the kheema masala and Naan is concerned... I can understand that maybe it wasn't as per your expectations but what I can't understand is when rocky asked you how your meal was, you said that the portions were big. At that time you could have easily said that you didn't like it. My guess is that if you had told us the truth then, you wouldn't have been able to complain about it in your review. You are perfectly entitled to your opinions and to voice them. However I feel that it's not in good taste to generalise about opinions of others regarding my shack. Whether a customer is new or a regular, we always look after them well. It really is a shame that you visited my shack to judge rather than enjoy. All I aim to do is help my customers enjoy their long awaited holiday to the best of my ability... nothing more than that and nothing less.

We used Mish Mar beach shack virtually every day of our 2 month stay in Goa because the food, service & friendship are second to none. Camillo, mine host, speaks excellent English & has a wicked sense of humour, but is constantly watching to make sure his guests are well catered for. The staff, most of whom have been at the shack for many years, cannot do enough for you. What is great about visiting Mish Mar is that we meet up with friends we have made over the years, some of whom have been coming to Goa & this shack for 25 years or more.People would not keep returning if it was not one of the best places to eat & enjoy the beach life. Thank you Camillo & staff for yet another fabulous holiday.

12 trips to this shack and it never disappoints us. Lovely shack boys. Food is awesome. Dennis is a proper gent who always makes a point of greeting everyone in person. Will arrange airport and any trip at good prices. Highly recommend this one.
