Can you get closer to paradise?Brooks' Bar and Deck is a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset, reasonably priced and tasty food and drinks. Only complaint is that our order incorrect but the staff quickly remade the order. Be aware that outdoor seating does have a few drawbacks. There are biting insects since you are next to the golf course and lots of wet grass.Thank you for sharing this great review! We appreciate your feedback and wonderful compliments about your dining experience at Brooks'. It is truly stunning to view the beautiful sunsets over Lake Tahoe from the deck! We are very pleased to hear that our team members were able to quickly fix the order discrepancy and you had an enjoyable experience overall. We look forward to welcoming you back!- Edgewood Team

California Burger Company is a great place to sit, relax and fill your belly with delicious burgers. We ordered the California Burger and the Honorary Texan burger. Both burgers were juicy and seasoned perfectly. The sweet potato tots were yummy! We were lucky enough to have live music by Roland and his dog Ragamuffin while we ate out on the patio. We will return when we are in town.

A go-to on our trips to South Lake Tahoe, this visit did not disappoint. We were seated quickly, and placed drink orders while perusing the menu (although we pretty much knew what we wanted!). The drink order included a new "adult" drink for us, the Hot Apple Jerry (Apple cinnamon infused Sailor Jerry spiced rum and American Born Apple Pie moonshine, topped with spiced apple cider), and a Skinny Margarita (Don Julio Blanco tequila, Cointreau Orange liqueur, fresh squeezed lime juice and organic agave nectar). For food we ordered as appetizers the fried calamari; garlic chips with pesto sauce; small Caesar salad with added shrimp; and a small Pear and Walnut salad (Crisp Bosc pears, sweet candied walnuts and sliced red onions, tossed with mixed greens and topped with Gorgonzola cheese). They had a Gorgonzola dressing for which I opted, and it went great with the cheese in the salad! If you love blue cheese dressings, try the Gorgonzola dressing. For the pizza (yes, there IS more!) we ordered the medium sized BBQ Chicken pizza and for the kids a Nick’s Spaghetti Bolognese. I think that was all for 3 adults and a 4 and 1 year old! The food came quickly, with appetizers and salads at the forefront. The fried calamari was very meaty, not just batter, and not greasy at all. The Caesar salad had a generous portion of shrimps, large and plump and buttery! The pear and walnut salad is my favorite, although I do enjoy their Greek salad as well. The pears were plentiful and sweetly crisp, and the candied nuts added another layer of sweet crunch. The garlic chips are my version of a pizza, and best with the additional pesto sauce for a small charge. The BBQ Chicken pizza was loaded with toppings, and perhaps too filling after all the other dishes, but so good for leftovers that night or even next day. The kids meal was a healthy serving of pasta with shaved Parmesan on top, a nice different touch. As for the margarita and hot apple Jerry? Delightful, but I personally think the hot apple Jerry was better for a cool day - and even more better if you love cinnamon! Base Camp is a great place to relax, either indoors or on their large patio. The decor is cool, very woodsy-homey style, and the service is always spot-on; if they miss something, they quickly remedy. Our server, Corbi, didn't miss anything and met our changing demands with speed and friendliness. In fact, we are beginning to recognize faces visit after visit, a sign of good commitment on both the workers and business' part. So if you're in the South Tahoe area, try to squeeze in a visit to Base Camp - you'll love it.

Lynn and I and friends recently stopped for a light dinner at the Fox and Hound. The restaurant was convenient to our high altitude timeshare nearby ( 7700 feet). . This place doesn’t look like much from the street, but walk inside and the servers make you feel like long lost friends. Our server, Britney was really sociable and gave me some good advice about the Heavenly ski season. I had their Fish & Chips ($18.49) with a side of onion rings. 3 nice pieces of fish..haddock I believe. Lynn had their French Dip with mushrooms. She must have liked it since we went back a couple of days later & she ordered the same thing. This is a very friendly laid back place with great food.

We went here for dinner on a Sunday night. The menu mainly consists mainly of pizza, burgers, and some BBQ items. Our food portions and taste, we considered average. The folks serving us appeared to be the owners, they were very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed... even using plastic silverware and cups. The outdoor seating area includes corn-hole and Jenga, among other games. The highlight was definitely the service! We didn't love the country music selection, would have preferred more variety. We will go back and give it another chance, maybe try some of their interesting cocktail options.

Our friends took us to this historic bar (oldest in Nevada est.1864) and what an experience we had. The interior looks like it had not changed since the bar opened. One item on the wall was of special significance. As the story goes Rachel Welch visited years ago and wanted to add her bra to the the wall display( a long tradition) however she insisted that all the other bras be taken down leaving her red bra alone on the wall. There it stands to this day although it now has turned black with age. Step up to the bar and your are greeted by friendly bar keeps. This particular Sunday it was quite busy with the tourist season but service was not effected. Plenty of outside seating is available also. And yes this is a full bar.
