As you enter the Chequers from the car park, through the rear gardens there are chickens roaming about freely, which sets the scene of a rustic, unspoilt old pub which has retained its traditional layout of several rooms arranged around a central bar. You can be assured of a warm Yorkshire welcome here. There are five handpumps mostly featuring Yorkshire brewed ales, including Leeds Best and a house beer from Brown Cow. Food is high quality and although not cheap, is reasonably priced for what it is, with most main dishes priced around the £mid-teens. The menu is interesting, variable and should have something on there for everyone and may include the likes of venison, pheasant, various fish options as well as vegetarion choices, and all come with a good selection of vegetables. Highly recommended.

This establishment deserves the highest grade possible. Party of 5, one allergy, one vegan, plus a dog. The staff member was the most helpful iâve come across in a very long time. Food very good. Lovely friendly place, well worth a visit.

Never been to The Buffets before so was unsure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The meals we had were excellent. My Brother and I had sirloin steaks, which were cooked to perfection, our wives had liver and.onions which.they agreed was very tasty and well cooked All.in all we were delighted and will frequent.The Buffers again in.the near future. Hi Brian and many thanks for the very positive review. All our meat is sourced from the very reputable Sykes House Farm, their sirloins are amazing. We hope to see you again very soon.

Great place for a very reasonably priced breakfast, sausage, bacon, beans, hash browns, egg, toast for 2 people with unlimited tea less than £10. Massive place, lots of parking. Outdoor tables at the front for nice weather. Outdoor tables at the back for smokers. Children welcome.
