Find out what Bar restaurants to try in Galway. For visitors, the best thing about Galway is that you can walk everywhere. As soon as you arrive, enjoy a walk through the city streets. There, you'll find lively pubs, independent shops and winding cobblestone streets packed with students, artists, writers and craftspeople. You may even hear Gaelic spoken. For a day trip, take a ferry to the island of Inis Mor. You'll return refreshed by the ocean air and Inis Mor's breathtaking scenery. Oh, and be sure to wear sunscreen on the island, no matter how chilly it is. (Just trust us, okay?)

While staying at my hotel in Oranmore, I decided to give this place a try for an evening meal. On arrival I was shown to my table & presented with a menu, while my drinks order was being prepared. My sizzling meal duly arrived & it was beautifully presented. It was top quality & served by a very cheerful & friendly waitress. The service was as good as the food & one was given the impression that you were known there eventhough that was not the case. I will be happy to return on my next visit.

Very cool Irish pub. We had dinner and drinks in the upstairs bar. Friendly staff...great food...very popular and AMAZING cocktails! Chilled atmosphere and live music every night of the week. We had to wait for a table which was no issue. Definitely check it out if in Galway.

Busker Brownes Bar & Kirbys Restaurant is set in the heart of Galway Cityâs vibrant & chique Latin Quarter. Throughout history Busker Brownes has been a meeting place for the Tribes of Galway, a soldiers barracks, a Dominican convent and a rendezvous for
We were looking for lunch and had tried 3-4 other places who were all full and weâre thankful they were because we got an excellent meal and a great conversation. It was a chilly day and the staff came downstairs and out the fire just for us. The chowder was excellent as was my wifeâs spiced pumpkin soup. We also shared a vegetable bowl with grilled halloumi which was very impressive. Weâre glad we stopped in and would recommend it if youâre in town.Dear SergioG37,Thank-you for the kind words in your recent review! I am delighted that you enjoyed your visit to Busker Brownes and that the fire in The Slatehouse Bar was an added bonus! It is great to hear the possitive feedback regarding the Veggie & Halloumi bowl, it is a new addition to the menu; I will be sure to pass this on to the kitchen. We do hope to welcome you back again soon!Best,Evie Faulkner

But worth the side trip. We were 4 diners who had good meals including fish and chips, Guinness and Beef stew, and pasta and vegetables. I highly recommend the Guinness stew with a pint!Service was good and there were many options on the menu. One diner had the three cheese appetizer and loved it.No room for dessert.

Had a delicious meal here. Portions were great, good price value, fresh fresh food. Sauces not too heavy, recommend roast chicken if they have it or the darn of salmon. Wine list is reasonably priced. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed, we waited about 30 minutes for our check, but food was prompt.Warm and inviting decor, beautiful patio if weather permits.

Good food, good selection on the menu, but it's pub grub.Pub is not the cleanest, sticky tables, tables are small and a lot stools not chairs.Disinterested waiting staff.Stairs everywhere, down to toilets and up to seating. If you want a quick meal with a pint, it's fine.

We were in Galway for one night & chose this restaurant based on its' name. We sat at the bar & enjoyed chatting with the bartenders. While I'm not comfortable with eating baby lambs, I thought well "In Ireland.....". I ordered the lamb shank which was very good; my husband ordered the lamb stew which he enjoyed. There is a large outside seating area (mostly smokers) with heated benches. Really, the benches are heated & are wonderful on a chilly evening but we didn't sit there long due to the cigarette smoke.

This was the rare time, in our 2 weeks in Ireland, of being in a pub and the staff and patrons not very friendly. Certainly when we came in for drinks and maybe a bite one afternoon we maybe were the only tourists there. Just ignored. Decided not to order food. The next day we wanted to give it another try and came by 200ish and told they couldnt serve us cause had a very large party. I guess good for them, bad for us. I should note our son and daughter in law were there for drinks and lunch without us and had a good timeSccrref A Chara. Many thanks for taking the time to review your visits to Joe Watty's.There have been many comments about Joe Watty's over the years but unfriendly or unwelcoming just never comes up in fact its quite the opposite, but if you were made feel unwelcome I profusely apologize for making you feel this way, hospitality in our business and to be successful we must try our best at all times.I'm glad you gave us another try, we are a small operation but a busy one and do a lot of tour operator trade business which means we are regularly booked out. I regret I don't understand when you say you arrived at 200ish but I may understand it to mean 20hrs which would be peak busy time at night and if without a reservation would mean you may not have been able to get a table or at best could be waiting a while for someone else to leave to free up a table. If we were unable to accommodate you at that time I don't apologize for that, we were busy and as you state ( Good for Them ) each evening we take a certain number of reservations and the rest of the tables are for first come first served basis.I'm glad your son and daughter in law were able to get lunch and drinks and have a good time.I do hope that overall you enjoyed your visit to Aran

If you enjoy high quality food in a traditional pub environment you will love John Keoghs Award-Winning Gastropub! All of our food is prepared daily with the emphasis on local and fresh. Reservations taken - call us to book. Walk-in tables are also availa
Our hotel recommended another place, but it had fewer choices and higher prices. Looked on TA and found this just a short walk away. The restaurant was not particularly busy when we arrived. The hostess seated us near a family of young children who were not being taught how to behave in a restaurant. Although we said nothing, the server could tell that the noise irritated us and asked us if we'd like to move to a quieter section of the restaurant, a most welcome suggestion. The food was excellent. We both ordered lamb, and it was perfectly prepared, appetizingly presented, and delicious. Seasoned just right, not over-spiced like too many restaurants tend to do to their food. Flavorful and tender, it was mouth-wateringly delicious. The server was helpful, friendly, and attentive without hovering. We felt neither ignored nor rushed during our meal. The table, chairs, dishes, glasses, and utensils were clean and in good condition. So glad we didn't take the hotel's suggestion to eat at another place, and discovered John Keogh's Gastropub instead!
