The town is a suitable base for exploring the Stann Creek district: visit the Maya Center and the world's first jaguar preserve, explore the beach and try snorkeling at the reef a few miles out.

We did arrive somewhat late but I did not think it was too late (about 8:30) as this is a bar and restaurant. The waiter was nice but the food took forever to arrive. The order of chili cheese fries was small, maybe 20 steak fries, topped with not much flavorless chili and melted cheese. The burgers when they finally arrived (over 45 minutes after ordering) were okay but not worth the wait. Considering our group of four was one of only 3 groups there we could see no reason for such slow service.

Local family-owned restaurant specializing in fresh caught seafood and freshly prepared dishes. On the beach with cool breeze and friendly staff.
This is a very small local restaurant located right on the beach and just steps away from the ocean. There were three tables inside and several picnic tables outside. We choose to eat inside because of the wind and looming rain. 'Inside" is pretty much a screened in sandy area with a small bar (I think there might have been two bar stools). Service was provided by a young local girl who was very friendly and attentive. Most important is the food was AMAZING. I ordered the shrimp in coconut milk and my husband ordered the stuffed shrimp with stuffed potato. Both meals were very different but equally great. Here's what you need to know if your fussy about where you eat. When we arrived we were greeted by two large dogs that jumped on us. We ignored them and they immediately left us alone. At one point a toddler climbed onto the top of the table next to us and the young girl serving us quickly snatched her off the table and handed her off to a young boy who quickly took the toddler outside. Eventually the toddler made her way back into the restaurant and over to our table. A young dog wondered through while we were eating. Again we ignored the dog and it left us alone. If you want to have an authentic Hopkins Belize experience Maxim's is a MUST.

Lucky Lobster is a fun, open air beach bar serving great drinks and delicious food. We feature fresh locally inspired caribbean bar food with options to satisfy all appetites. Our establishment is kid friendly and has a great kid's menu too. We look forwa
Lovely restaurant and staff. Food is superb and staff is super accommodating with dietary needs and even a great kids menu. As the name implies, this IS THE place for lobster in Hopkins. Special Lobster Season menu and dishes are divine. The simply grilled tail is perfect, but you can't beat sharing the lobster mac 'n cheese. My son enjoyed the Gluten Free Crispy Chicken Chicklets and got a fun kids toy and "tattoo". Highly recommend.

Jalapeno's is a clean, bright happy spot at the entrance to Hopkins. There are picnic tables out front under cover as well as bar stools at the outside bar where you can have a meal and drink while enjoying the sun and laid back atmosphere of the Village.
While spending a week in Belize for work purposes, my three colleagues and I were introduced to Matt and Cat, owners of Jalapenoâs BBQ & Grill. A very nice and fun couple that take a hands on approach and provide a great variety of tasty and quality food and drinks.I highly recommend the stuffed jalapeños and Cajun chicken pasta - my two favorites! We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us so much. It was an absolute please to meet you all, and we hope you make it back to Belize in the future. Matt and Cat

Laid back casual restaurant focusing on Caribbean and local cuisine taken to a new level. We use the best locally-sourced ingredients and present them in a new way. We offer affordable and delicious menu items with seasonal specials, in a comfortable atmo
This was my favorite thing to do. I love the owners. So friendly and helpful. Our guides were both extremely knowledgeable on the history and alot of fun. What amazing views. I got bit by a bug while jet skiing afterwards . It didnt swell up until we were back to the states the next day. I sent a message to them and they were so helpful with information on what it could be. They went above and beyond. The atv was so much fun and the view was spectacular. Only other thing i would have liked to have done was stop at that chocolate shop. Haha

Beach restaurant and bar, in the center of Hopkins, where you can enjoy a great view of the Caribbean, tasteful meals prepared with fresh ingredients, and the best drinks in town!
We loved the Husk! We stayed at Coconut Row so we wanted to try other places in town but most nights we agreed that the food here was better than other places in town. So yummy-the husk toast for breakfast is unique, the curry dishes for dinner are really good, and the lunch special is always something yummy!

Located on the Northside of magical Hopkins Village, beachfront. Live music Tuesday nights ('Jam Nite' with local drumming) and Thursday nights ('One Love Thursdays' with live reggae). 'Saturday Night Socials' offer different entertainment weekly. Custome
They have a nice setup here with a good bar, plenty of games to play while waiting for you food, and beach volleyball available. The food was delicious as well, so that never hurts. I really liked the vibe here. I had a plain small pizza and lobster tacos.

This breezy beach side restaurant offers local fare with an emphasis on fresh seafood, but it's best known for it's pina coladas. Visit the Rhum Shack for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We're sure you'll find something you like from shrimp ceviche and snappe
All meals at Rhum Shack were very good. My favorite was the Belize Breakfast. Fryjacks were perfectly prepared. Scrambled eggs were light and fluffy and the beans were delicious. But the true star at Rhum Shack is Mariano. He was awesome. Great recommendations, conversations, and he followed up on all our needs and concerns at the Resort. You have to visit Rhum Shack for his great conversations and their good meals.

The title says it! Beautiful view of boats coming in and out of river, kids swimming and fisherman casting fish nets. Great food and service. Drinks even better.

We did not stay here, but came for leisurely sunset, drinks, and dinner. Drink prices for such a beautiful view through the palm trees to the ocean were very reasonable. The food was very good. We had conch soup, fish, wonderful cheese dip with special chips. The rooms all look toward the ocean. There are hammocks on the pier, but it was too windy to use them. We tried and got wet.
