The County Hotel is located in the picturesque region of North Lancashire and provides a range of attractive facilities that appeal to tourists and holidaymakers, function organisers, those enjoying a meal out and of course ... social drinkers seeking a r
We had a wonderful meal that included penne with cream sauce, lightly battered salmon medallions and melted cheese on garlic toast. Did I mention it was a daily special. The whole restaurant had a family friendly, fresh, tastely decorated appearance. If we lived in the area we would dine there often.

dropped in here as our first choice didn't have the menu we liked, the menu here is varied and suited us for lunch, however we had to wait a considerable amount of time before our meal was served, which took the edge off things a little, couldn't fault the food it was hot and tasty , but my husbands gammon was supposed to be a 10oz one , the jury is still out on that issue, and a member of our party had a panini and although she didnt say anything it did look very dry, some time after we had finished our meals came the offer of a sweet , but by that time we were really pushed for time so declined, the pub wasnt busy so we couldnt work out why the food took so long to come out of the kitchen , but the menu does say all home cooked , so i wouldnt like to have gone when it was busy

The Bay Horse is a very traditional village pub, serving traditional pub food and great ales. We also offer a very attractive beer garden for all to enjoy. We all have 3 top quality rooms to let and are available for private functions and parties. We also
We were recommended to eat here by the owners of the local Band B . We and our dogs were given a warm welcome by the landlord and his staff. We ate there on a "curry night". There was a huge leap yourself buffet. Numerous differnt curries were on offer including several vegetarian options - lots of side dishes too . The pub was packed with customers and had a very happy atmosphere. Would highly recommend !

Visited the hotel twice whilst staying locally at Gibraltar Farm campsite and eat both nights. Thefood was very good and there was plenty of it, the beer was superb and the staff very welcoming and friendly. It is also a dog friendly pub, with dogs welcome everywhere except the conservatory.

Very reasonably priced food decent portions and quality, food served up quickly. We were very happy and found it good value for money. Locally sourced ice cream was delicious too. Pleasant location next to canal. We went there in evening later and I really enjoyed the pink gin cocktail.

Thereâs a good range of wholesome food, smoothly served at the Smithy, with good beer to go with it. On a weekday, after missing lunch, we took advantage of the 5pm start of evening meal service and werenât disappointed. By the time we left, the restaurant and pub were both busy. The steak pie was very good, as were the curry and the lambâs liver (which was one of the daily specials). Located in a small village, the Smithy draws a big clientele, so we suggest you go there too.

We stopped for lunch after a morning stroll. The Inn has undergone a complete transformation since our last visit. We were warmly welcomed and sat outside in the October sunshine. Inside, there is a dining room and very comfortable bar area.We had lunch off the fixed price menu. Excellent value. The food is pub style but with a twist and elevated to restaurant standard. Excellent fish and chips and chicken as main dishes. Prompt and friendly service. Deserves to do well. There is a nice garden area and plenty of room for parking.Dear Stephen, Thank you for your review of The New Inn. We're glad that you enjoyed some autumnal sunshine in our garden - it's a great place to relax with food and drinks. We're also happy you enjoyed the food and service; hopefully next time you may be able to stay in one of our new boutique rooms! We look forward to seeing you againWarm regardsLaura

A country old fashioned pub serving high quality pub food. Not a gastro pub ,Good old fashioned pub grub at reasonable prices. Dog friendly, child friendly, diver and walker friendly. In fact we serve anybody or anything. Fish and chip night on a Wednesda
Decided to give this place another chance, as my elderly parents speak very highly of it, in truth, food is very average indeed, staff rude, and have excuses for everything, you don't come out for the evening to spend your hard earned cash on this mediocre tripe, in fact tripe would be a blessing compared to the inedible fodder this place serves we were majorly disappointed,Well Mark. What can I say other than you gave us a glowing review in 2016 likening my business to what sounded like the Munsters mansion serving bad food. Terrible service and generally the eatery from hell. So why did you return only to find we were still as bad or even worse than your first visit.I will tell you why........because this is a fictitious review. You say there are numerous good restaurants around us which I totally agree with but you have not given them any sort of rating. Yesterday on the day of your so called visit no one left any of our inedible food so what did you do with yours??? Put it in your hand bag.Reviews with realistic criticism I can tolerate but ones like yours show no purpose at all and in kevin Bloody Wilson words........the Australian comedian.....
