I have only been here once and that was about 18 years ago, so I was pleasantly surprised by the classic, over the top Irish Pub décor (ceiling fans, signs, flags, wood, stained glass, etc.). It is as good a themed interior you will find anywhere. The next thing I noticed was the smell of cigarette smoke which was odd because I thought it was a non-smoking restaurant. As I walked from the bar level to the upper level the smell became stronger. Evidently there is another section behind the dining room that allows smoking in a bar like setting. When I got back to my hotel room my clothing and underwear all reeked of smoke, horrible. They offer an very extensive and diverse menu. I started with two appetizers, the wings ($13 for 12) and onion rings ($7.50). Both ended up being ½ price I guess because I arrived and ordered before 7pm. The wings were average size and taste but not plump as advertised. The crisp onion rings were large and better than average. It came with a very good horseradish remoulade sauce. My waitress recommended Wrangler sandwich ($11) was great. Open faced roast beef with peppers, onions and cheese. It was large, had a lot of roast beef and had a great taste. It came with a side of au jus to dip. My side was coleslaw which was minced and served cold. Overall the best I have eaten so far in Carlisle. One thing to look out for is the gingerbread cookie you get when you get your bill.

Food is decent but the services is horrible! A bunch of young kids more worried about carrying on with each other then waiting on customers.

We had a fun first visit to Grand Illusion on a Friday evening. Since it was our first time, the server took time to explain the drink menu, food, and give us the âlay of the landâ. Throughout our entire visit our server was fun and very attentive. We sampled a flight of ciders, mainly those from Grand Illusion, and were very pleased with the depth and flavor variety offered. Our clear favorite was the Anniversary edition. The entire drink menu includes only those brews, ciders, wines, crafted in Pennsylvania! I liked this! The food we tried was good. We were there a bit so we sampled a variety of menu items. The asiago cheese dip-tasty, but small; the pretzel flight-very good; and the nachos-good, but the shredded cheese on top was different. We finished off with the Steakburger flatbread, which was very good and tasted like a cheeseburger (the diced pickles put it over the top! YES). Overall, we were pleased with the food, which all paired nicely with their ciders. Grand Illusion is the type of place a person could become a regular at due to the welcoming environment and the menu variety. We will return and recommend checking it out if you get a chance.

Let me begin by saying we have been regular patrons here for the last 8 years or so, and have never experienced a problem. The food and drinks have been good and the prices reasonable. Its been our go-to Monday restaurant when most places are closed. Then came Mother's Day. My wife called to make reservations on thursday for an 11 AM seating for four. Pretty simple, right? Well, she was told that due to the heavy booking, they would take her name and number and a manger would call her back as they worked out the seating. Saturday rolls around and no call. So my wife called again to find out what was going on, only to find that she still doesn't have a reservation for the next day, but that a manager would call her back. Again, no call. Not even a call to let her know they couldn't accommodate her. We find this unbelievably rude and disrespectful. We grasp that Mother's Day can be incredibly busy, but we feel that some response was in order given that she had called THREE DAYS IN ADVANCE. We are definitely dropping Fiddlers as a go-to and putting them on the 'if we're desperate' list. We are only one couple with occasional family and we know it won't hurt their business, but we thought we would share our experience if it means we can drop their rating down even a little bit.

Visited with another couple on a Friday night when car show in town. We had reservations for 5:30 and it got busy soon afterwards. The waitress was so busy running around but she was so efficient. Our food came out in reasonable time. I ordered the crab cakes(2) with 2 sides(salad and french fries). The salad was very fresh with green peppers, tomatoes, lettuce and it was a nice size. Two crab cakes tasted good with lump crab and the fries were some of best I've eaten. Their ice tea is highly recommended as it had a real tea flavor and not costly. I ordered a black cherry hard cider which was good and had that cherry taste in it. Lots of people hang by the bar after Friday work but seating is not affected. This place is on our list to return soon again.

As if the third time wasn't enough, successive visits continue to impress. Had the Mixed Grille which included 2 very nice entrée portions and 2 sides, and at a very reasonable price to boot. As long as the weather is accommodating, recommend dining on the deck. Must try the sea scallops and stuffed shrimp with crab imperial. Enjoy!

Brick is a modern, informal restaurant with good food and service in downtown Carlisle. The décor is modern and airy, with high ceilings and big windows. Outside seating is shaded and very pleasant. Fina bill very was a very reasonable $20 per person. Highly recommended.A friend made reservations for our group of nine people to have lunch outside. We arrived on time, and our friends were already seated waiting for their drinks. The service was excellent and patient, taking care not to interrupt conversations of this mini reunion. I had the Lobster Roll was very good, and others who ordered the Spinach Salad and the Fish Tacos gave their food two-thumbs up. In fact, everyone gave their food two-thumbs up.We went to Brick on a sunny afternoon and appreciated both the outside seating and the shade. Since outside seating is at the back, it was fairly quiet. Great lunch!
