Things to do in Bulverde
Did takeout back to room as their were groups of children running around the restaurant and full of families. Husband couldn't take it, so we ate in room. Placed order at bar and the bar tender and kitchen were super fast with order and included utinsils. Got a Greek Salad which was very good and a side salad and chicken gumbo. The chicken gumbo was super spicy (almost too much). Thank goodness for the bread to help cool down my mouth between bites. The drinks at the bar were also good.

We were looking for some place different in the Spring Branch/Bulverde area. We hit the jackpot! The food and service were absolutely fantastic! I got the Branch salad and the other 2 got burgers....everyone was in heaven. Will definitely be back to try more!!!

Start off with - the staff was great, cold beer, spotless restaurant/bar and bathrooms and fun atmosphere. There is a limited menu but definitely something for everyone. The problem is that the food was just average. I had a pizza and hubby had a cheeseburger. The pizza is very thin crust, which I prefer, but was slightly overcooked - some burnt spots. Hamburger was dry but fries were great.

54th Street was founded in Kansas City, MO by Thomas E. Norsworthy in 1989. He envisioned a place that would accommodate a consistently crowded dining room as well as a lively bar crowd, while offering the quality food and drinks that exceed national chai

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meal we ate at this restaurant. The food was good, the service was good and although busy, the food was prepared promptly. They have many gluten free options including an incredible cookie dessert. If you are in the area, this is a great option to choose.

Whats not to love. Beautiful restaurant having huge oak trees all around the property with lighting in the trees and outdoor seating as well as inside. Live music on Friday and the weekends most of the time. Well stocked bar with great staff serving ice cold beer and cocktails. Hamburgers, Grilled chicken sandwich, the Reuben, Catfish plate, all fantastic. Sandra, the owner, works hard every day to make sure her guests are well taken care of and happy. A great place for families with plenty of room for kids as well as people like my wife and I who prefer to dine at the bar. If you are ever in the Bulverde area, this is a must try for lunch or dinner.

Our famous San Antonio sports bar, High Velocity, puts you right in the action with a 120-foot long media display and monitors galore. Choose from a deep roster of craft beers and other beverages, plus an outstanding lineup of great food.
This restaurant has at least 15 large TV's for watching sports. The food is typical sports bar food, but I had a very nice salad. They also have a good spinach & artichoke dip. Other people enjoyed the burgers. They also have a good selection of beers.Hello Steve - Thank you for joining us and providing feedback about your experience. We are very appreciative of all our guests and I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed your salad and spinach and artichoke dip. We do pride ourselves on supporting local breweries when possible as well as having massive tv screens and a video wall for viewing all sports.Thank you again for your patronage and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Live music flows almost every night, along with cold beer and great Texas home cooking at Spechts Texas! Since 1985, we have been the ultimate bar and restaurant in San Antonio and with a newly renovated event space, The Gin, Spechts is the best live musi
We live outside a metropolitan area, so there are few choices of restaurants. We decided to try Specht's since it is within easy driving distance of our house. The place itself is charming--it is inside an old country general store, complete with authentic bar. The entrée choices besides salads and sandwiches are limited. My spouse chose the $13.95 chicken fried steak; I got the $13.00 fried catfish. There was a note on the top of the menu that Thursday--the night we visited--was Steak Night, but no mention of what was offered on the menu, and no mention from our waitress. I later saw a notice on the door on the way to the bathroom that Steak Night was a 12 oz ribeye with baked potato and one additional side. After our meal, wish that option had been presented to us. It was our first visit, and we noticed as we left that the other patrons had steak, so I guess they were regulars. We got chips and salsa for an appetizer, salsa was good and spicy, not too much tomato taste. My $13.00 fried catfish plate consisted of ONE piece of catfish that was lukewarm and soggy on the bottom. That was surprising since waitress warned me that my plate was very hot (it was). I had to ask for tartar sauce. The green beans were canned and tasteless, with a bit of bacon thrown in an attempt to make them look like "from scratch". The saving grace was the mashed sweet potatoes, they were quite good with a smoky taste. My spouse's $13.95 chicken fried steak was mostly breading encasing a 6" round cube steak that was more appropriate for a sandwich than an entrée. To their credit, the mashed potatoes were real, not out of a box. After I finished my beer, I asked for water, and was told they had only bottled water. That was fine, but it was room temperature. About halfway through, the flies descended on us and our food, crawling around the rim of our drink glasses. The indoor dining is completely enclosed, so I question how sanitary the kitchen might be. By the time we left, five flies were buzzing around us. Restrooms are outside, adjacent to their outdoor dining/entertainment area, which offers live music on weekends. The ladies room was filthy, with muddy footprints on the floor, paper towels littering the floor, and one sink looked like someone had rinsed off their muddy tennis shoes in it. The outdoor area is large with wooden picnic tables and appears to be pet-friendly--there was a pet waste disposal station at the back of the property. We might try it again for lunch and get burgers or sandwiches; the entrees we selected are available for two thirds of the price with servings twice the size at another restaurant that is much more convenient. Our experience was not worth the extra 12 minute drive or the price and not planning to revisit again anytime soon.

Very large juicy burgers, lots of variety, great fries.....only choices for beverages were canned sodas, tea, beer....But the burgers are hand formed never frozen and not overcooked.....

Love that Wine 101 is so close to my home, but still in the country, and that they carry wines most local wine stores do not. They are also distributors, and allow takeout in case you don't finish the bottle at their setting. Very rustic cozy setting in and out, great wine, good service, and wish I could sample the appetizers, but not on my edible list. They look good, however! Have enjoyed this setting with friends several times lately.
