Came here for an early Sunday lunch and found the service was excellent. Friendly and always helpful, everyone we came across were terrific. The food was ok. I chose the chicken burger which came with chips. The burger was tasty and well cooked however it was really small and the chips were hugely over seasoned. My husband chose the fish and chips and it was well cooked but like the burger, just average, especially for the price.Good beers on tap, a mix of craft and standard beers. Overall experience was fine, but I wouldn't rush back to eat here.

We had a large family birthday party on the terrace. The stand up food was first class (sliders, satay sticks, fish pieces etc). The beer is excellent with IPA, porter's etc along with the usual lager. Seemed to be really popular venue with lots of people in the other bars. If I lived in Brisbane I could see myself having a few drinks here on a regular basis.

S27°27.675' E153°1.597' In the centre of Spring Hill, Brisbane QLD, we had dinner in The Alliance Hotel in September 2018, with the restaurant in the back. After schooners of Kosciuszko and reading the menu of this QHA best restaurant, we ordered pan fried duck breast with spring onion, pearl barley risotto, savoury muesli and sour cherries (AU$34.90) and the special of the day 500-gram grilled pork Tomahawk with roasted potato cubes, papaya, sweet corn salad with Montpellier butter (AU$34.90). Impressive menu. The duck breast was well prepared and had nice flavours, but consisted of only five slices of duck breast. Good work was done on the risotto, but no matter how good a restaurant risotto is, it will not show such a rich texture and just-right doneness of good homemade risotto. The pork was served stacked on the potatoes (still not sure about this presentation habit in Australia) with a lot of fat on the bone, which added flavour to the dish. The dishes were pleasant and the result of serious cooking efforts, but there was no wow-factor on our taste buds. These expensive dishes left no impression or impact to return the next day. The waiter knew the menu and looked after us. The Alliance takes cooking seriously, but the food left no impression. Thanks for your review Goyourownway! We are really passionate about seasonal produce, and working with other small business to provide a quality dining experience for our guests. I am sorry you feel it didn't meet the mark for you back in September last year - hopefully we will see you again to try something else from our menu!

Traditional Italian restaurant in Brunswick Street Fortitude Valley/New Farm.Smallish venue with two separate dining areas. Typical basic Italian decor and seating.Menu choices as to be expected. Service was friendly. Food, on the night we dined, was average. The Owner/chef spoke very highly of his food but unfortunately we did not share his opinion. The restaurant is fully licensed but BYO wine is permitted however it is limited to one bottle and a charge of $15 is levied. The restaurant wine list is very limited and the quality of the wine offered is very poor eg Yellow Tail !There are many other Italian restaurants to choose from and unfortunately I must say I would not hurry back to this establishment.Hello Trevor, thank you so much for your feedback. Our BYO is currently $5 per person (we have had this price for quite a few months now). Could we ask you which day you were in so we can check what went wrong please? we value everyone's comments and would like to improve any point mentioned. The food is locally sourced and reasonably priced. I had the spaghetti carbonara which was good but a bit bland for my taste. The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. There was a nice local crowd in the restaurant for lunch and what appeared to be baffles in the ceiling to keep the noise level manageable. I am rounding my rating up to 4 based on the service and the price. Helpful Hint: The restaurant is not immediately on the street. There was a sign on the sidewalk pointing in the direction of the restaurant.
