Bum Rogers, spanning five decades, has been a unique, specialty house restaurant and the communal, spirit-lifting watering hole of the indigenous and migrating young and young-at-heart.We, the Bum Rogers Family and staff, continue to be dedicated to the p
Made the detour to Seaside Heights after a mobbed Six Flags caused us to exit before even dealing with Saturday crowds. Drove into Seaside Park and saw a lively Bum Rogers.Greeted upon opening the door and was seated immediately. They have a huge menu but also restaurant week so we opted for that. We each had a crab cake app, prime rib and the Connecticut lobster roll for the entree, and apple cake and bread pudding for dessert, all for $36 each. The spiked Arnold Palmers were quite refreshing. They just finished a new batch of bread pudding which was piping hot and awesome!Jeffrey provided solid service, music was at an enjoyable level, and tvâs all around kept college football nearby. They do have a lot of âgoodâ here, including a separate bar area in case the bar scene isnât your style, and another back bar and private event room for groups. The kitchen is in view but behind a glass wall which really keeps the heat out of the dining room. Free WiFi for guests and a follow up email asking how your experience was really the best way get feedback. For November (11/2) the place was basically full all night but servers and bussers and hostesses work on-stop to turn over tables and keep things moving. Restaurants make the same mistake over and over and cut front of house staff to save payroll dollars but Bum Rogers has extra on staff and turnover means more money for everyone. Open year round, we will stop again. Thank you for your visit and your awesome review!

Great entertainment , great atmosphere , friendly staff and most important fantastic food and drinks. Saturday night it was packed but that didnât slow the service. I stopped here for lunch this past weekend with my son, his wife and baby. They both ordered salads with chicken; I ordered one of my favorites, the French Dip. There wasn't a whole lot of beef on the sandwich; mostly the roll. There was a generous portion of au jus along with a big serving of French fries and a small container of cole slaw. I'm sorry to say that I was not impressed. I've had much better French Dips.

Nice ambience. Liked the fact that you can see the Chefs working over there in their kitchen! Reasonably good service. I ordered the branzino. He ordered the scallops. We both loved our dishes ! Easy parking. Easy to make U-turn if heading back west on Rte 37 !

Four of us out for dinner and drinks. Greeted and seated right away. Our server Byron had a great personality and did a wonderful job in serving us. Atmosphere was relaxing and you weren't rushed. Food was very good..would certainly recommend this place and would go again.

After reading other reviews we stopped in for dinner. I was with my adult son and 6 year old granddaughter. All 3 of us loved our meals. My granddaughter ordered the adult ribs and wings meal. She devoured the ribs, disappointing my son who figured he'd be eating half. I had the turkey reuben, served open-faced with French fries. The bread stayed crispy and the fries were obviously cooked in fresh oil. Lightly browned with a nice exterior crunch and soft center. My son had the steak with a gravy that he was dunking his fries in. The service was attentive and friendly. Tonight's our last night in town and we unanimously decided to return to this great spot.

Not a busy night there we were a table of 8. Very long wait to get served drinks. Waitress kept disappearing. Then no idea who ordered what. For the prices there I would expect much better service. Food wise, I had tuna kimchee wraps as an appetizer and it was tasteless, even the dipping sauce had no taste. For entrée I got the lobster mac and cheese and it was just terrible and I could not eat it. At the end the waitress saw I did not eat and asked how it was and I was honest but it was done and offered nothing. I give them 2 stars because some liked the $15 prime rib special. Outside the special not worth the high cost given the service and the quality. The view is fantastic.

...wish I could say more, but really can't. Average food variety, but nothing really special as far as items or taste. Bar -- a good beer selection -- can get a little loud a times, so if you are looking for a quiet place, this may not be for you.

The Anchor Inn is a great place to go for very good food, great service and reasonable prices. I love everything about the place. If you like fancy restaurants that have "atmosphere" and are very expensive, this place is not for you. The Delmonico is tremendous and big enough to share. We like to order some type of seafood dinner and the Delmonico and then share for Surf and Turf!

Amazingly I only live about a thousand feet from this long time establishment, and finally got there Saturday with my mom. Joy was our server, and couldn't have been a more pleasant person. There's nothing fancy in the Shady Rest in either decor or perhaps even in the menu. This is a simple eatery, but that said, what they do they do very well. My mom had a flounder dish and I had a dish called Veal Supreme. It was great. There was garlic bread, and I ordered chicken fingers. I even tried a chocolate Martini. Mmmmm. They have bar pies and pizza you can take home as well, and the portions are good. Look forward to going back real soon
