The tables on the terrace are few in number, but with a glass firepit in the tables and blankets to keep you warm they are very, very convivial. But I do have to agree with the service issues. Long waits if you are looking for table service at busy times, or, if you are sitting at the bar you can easily be ignored whilst all the staff are tied up in drinks dispense for the waiters. Not quite what you expect in a five star hotel.

Had a lovely evening meal, spicy chicken and the steak pie for me. The chicken was very good but the steak pie was excellent, nice bit of steak. The dessert menu is very good, a great variety and all very well priced. Overall a great dinner, very well priced and topped off with excellent staff who were efficient and very pleasant. Thank you.

Arrived on a very busy Sunday, as was welcomed by the most bubbliest manager. I have every met, (Angela you truly are ambassador with in the hospitality industry)Angela escorted myself and friends to our table and informed us formally however with so much charm what was on the menu, what they had run out of due to having a busy Saturday evening. We where then introduced to young waitress Victoria and a new girl aged 16 with blond hair who had only started 2 weeks previous ( forgot her name)- who where to look after us, ( table of 12) amazing confidence in both of the girls credit to the training I am guessing the manager has put in place,even when we commented on the food it was dealt with professional and discreetly. The atmosphere, ambiance and friendly attitude of all staff makes this place the NUMBER 1 spot to visit. thank you for a super great day, and your stories and knowledge of the surroundings and recommendations of where to stay were fantastic.

My wife, daughter and I had been into the Carrick Spa for the morning and decided to have lunch at The Claret Jug before heading home. The service and level of attention shown us by Mark was absolutely superb. He was very polite and pleasant and could not do enough for us. He was superb. The food was delicious if a little pricey and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. Overall a lovely afternoon following a relaxing morning. Friendly welcome as soon as we came in the door. Nice cosy surroundings and delicious food efficiently served. Reasonable prices. Had heard good reports about this place and it didn't fail to please three hungry golfers. We will certainly be back and look forward to our next visit. Full marks to our server.

Some friends and I had dinner together here recently. Perfect meeting point for us at this cosy bar. We had a range of dishes between us such as Chicken Enchilada, Chicken Supreme (their version) and Nachos as a main. Soooo good, each dish was super tasty! Friendly service and great prices, we will be back again.

Evening meal with family Friday during weekend break. I ordered salmon fillet which came with veg, it was superb. Husband had fish combo and sister and brother in law had fajitas. All excellent. Service was fantastic. Staff extremely friendly and polite. Venue was spotlessly clean. The view of the Loch was stunning. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going there again.

First visit and it wonât be the last . Beautiful surroundings and a great menu. Sunday lunch was just gorgeous and the apple crumble finished it off perfectly. I honestly couldnât fault this restaurant. The lady looking after us was an absolute superstar. Her name was Mary and she really made us feel welcome . Reasonably priced too . We booked a table as we saw that they advertised a Sunday roast. OMG, what a roast. We have the Trio of meat. Beef, Turkey and Pork Belly. The photos do not do it justice. We also got a big bowl of roasted vegetables and ordered a side of Cauliflower Cheese. Not that we were hungry afterwards but we had to order dessert. Sticky Toffee Pudding and Marmalade Bread and Butter Pudding. We WILL be back.
