I very rarely give 5 star rating to restaurants, but this is well deserved for Spice of Shifnal. From the very moment you walk in service is exemplary. Staff are smart and well presented and so polite and friendly. The decor is smart and welcoming. The menu is extensive and well priced. The three of us all thoroughly enjoyed our choice of meals and what a lovely touch at the end of the meal to be given complimentary drinks :brandy for the 2 chaps and a Baileys for me. Well done, we will definitely be back

This restaurant serves a good selection of Indian dishes to cater for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The food is authentic, service is efficient and is quite popular so it's advisable to make a booking in advance. We feel lucky to find good Indian food in the village where we live.

My golfing pals have passed this restaurant many times over the years and considered it uninviting from the outside but decided to give it a go having read Tripadvisor reviews. The four of us arrived at 7.30 pm to find it was empty and remained so until we departed two hours later.Met by very pleasant staff and guided to a table behind the bar area, first thing we noticed was the very loud Indian song and dance music which was annoying so asked politely for it to be turned down which they did without hesitation. Not an extensive menu but all the usual favourites were there although I donât remember seeing my usual Madras curry.I had the chefs special fish curry which I canât say I enjoyed that much, my friends had Bunha, Dansak and another chefs special chicken dish, they were all presented nicely but the general consensus was that the food was pretty bland. No draught Cobra beer but large bottles which werenât chilled. The four of us have been eating Indian food for many years and have travelled the country extensively playing golf and on a quest to find the best Indian fare, the Indian Spice we placed at at the bottom end of the hundreds we have visited. Can I just mention the friendly and attentive staff again.

After reading the reviews and staying near by for the night we thought we would try this curry house. With us both loving curry as a meal we were looking forward to the meal.Arrived and got shown to our table and asked if we wanted poppadoms we started eating these and had all the dips which we enjoyed but you can't go wrong with them.Next our meal came out and if I'm honest it's not the best curry that we have had. We have ate at plenty of curries houses but for us this place isn't for us and like I have said we have had better. Overall disappointed and wouldn't rush back.Apart from the food the staff were nice and the restaurant is lovely inside.

Once you're done with the heritage and natural beauty of wonderful ironbridge take your refreshment at Pondicherry. Located in the old police station the restaurant os modern and well appointed. staff were welcoming on arrival and showed us to our table promptly. poppadoms, plain and spicy, were lovely as were the dips. choice on the menu was fantastic with some special dishes as well as the usual indian choices. each of the courses arrived in good time and piping hot. flavours were well balanced with good use of spices, not unnecessarily hot. staff were attentive but not intrusive. Good selection of wines and beers - £16 for a bottle of white was good value.thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. Upon getting there it wasnât too busy, the service was friendly & quick. The food arrived & it was highly disappointing, the chicken was very dry, the curry was quite greasy & the Naan Bread was also quite greasy & bland tasting. Best thing was the sides to the Poppadomâs. After hearing good things it was a disappointment & I wouldnât have paid what I paid.

This was a lovely find for us. The food was excellent, the staff couldn't be more helpful with my food preferences and a very nice atmosphere. No repercussions in the morning. We all enjoyed it and will definitely return when we are in the area.
