Just eaten a meal from Abduls in Pontefract, I am usually indifferent about their food, having been impressed and also a bit disappointed in the past, but todays meal, a chicken achari masala and a chicken zafrani, were both very nice and tasty. The only slight criticism was that the zafrani was on the mild side. It is listed under their "medium" dishes.Well recommended on todays form !!

Not been in a couple of months, life has been mental.Best curry we've had in there yet & they've all been great.Just been tonight (Saturday), went early 1830 so place was quiet but by 1930 there was a wait for tables.Great service even when full, friendly and attentive. We had 5 different dishes, 3 were customised.... Every dish spot on & delicious. ... not oily like a lot of currys are lately.A good menu to pick from and they'll adjust any dish to suit.Realistic portions, big enough but manageable for a good eater. I a big lad and I was still Christmas day full when I left.If I had to be REALLY picky the side plates for popadums are ridiculously small.... that's about it.Still the best curry in town & it's such a friendly place, very pleasant inside too.Great value to boot!!!!Give it a try as the place is wonderful. We'll be back soon.

We made our booking via the restaurantâs own website, and it said someone would ring us to confirm the booking. This didnât happen but also wasnât a problem and we had no issues getting a table. The restaurant area itself is clean and airy with plenty of room between tables so you donât feel youâre on top of each other. The waiters are all friendly, efficient and knowledgable about the menu. There is a step down to the rear of the restaurant, but the owners have put a ramp in so thereâs good access for wheelchair users. The menu is good and there should be something on it to suit everyoneâs tastes. We prefer mild curries and were not disappointed. We took advantage of the meal for 2 which includes the pickle tray with 2 poppadoms, two starters, two mains and two sundries for £28...absolute bargain! The food was top quality and very tasty and the time between courses was just about right. You do need to take your own alcohol, but to be honest thatâs also a bonus....we were able to enjoy a bottle of wine for less than half the price weâd have had to pay if weâd paid restaurant prices. The downside is the toilets. My wife tells me that the ladies were spotless and they provide Bayliss and Harding soap and hand lotion. The gents is a different story - ingrained dirt on most surfaces, huge cobwebs in the corners and worst of all NO SOAP!! Sort this out and I would have no hesitation in giving full marks. We will visit again, hopefully the owners will sort out the cleaning of the gents toilets, everywhere else was very clean, so why neglect this area?

Visited this place a good few months ago and not been back since. The prices are good, yes you do need to take your own drinks, however I've been to better Indian restaurants where the food just tastes better. I will not be returning unfortunately the meat was very dry and chewy. However I'd say it's ok if you fancy a cheap meal out nothing more.

Went here New Yearâs Eve and it was very busy. Staff really friendly and food is lovely. Enjoyed every thing we tried. You can take your own alcohol, soft drinks are available to buy. Will definitely be visiting here again.

not been for a while so an impromptu visit. Nice to see the log burner on as quite chilly. Mixed starter was delicious, the chicken tikka especially. Mains really fragrant and freshly cooked. Definitely will be going back soon. Nice level of attentiveness too.

Excellent value for money, we went for the £9.95 Sunday (and Wednesdays) deal. Poppadoms (but pay a small charge for pickle tray) a starter a main and a choice from rice, chips or nann bread, ice cream or coffee. Plenty as well and really tasty with good staff and a nice atmosphere.

Loved it. Hemsworth isn't famous for its fine dining experiences so I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised. A diverse selection on the menu catering for a range of style and tastes. Great mixed starter with some excellently cooked fish. Mains were flavorful, generous and well cooked. Family friendly yet good for couples. Service was polite, prompt and timely. I genuinely have nothing negative to say. It's rapidly becoming my go to place for eat in and take out Asian food.
