Undaal Restaurant brings the ultimate, authentic fine dining experience. We are deeply committed to setting standards in excellence and quality, our traditional cuisine and impeccable service delivers just that!
My husband and I have been dining at Undaal for a very long time and our experience at Undaal has always been positive.Until recently I have noticed that the restaurant isnât busy during Friday and Saturday evenings, the staff and also a lot of the customers have been reduced, after finding out that the restaurant has been given a 1 STAR RATING for food hygiene I am absolutely shocked at how a restaurant went from a 3 star to a 1 star. The front of the restaurant and toilet is having renovation done however itâs a shame itâs been several months since the 1 star rating and nothing has been done to improve the restaurants food and hygiene rating which exceptionally matters the most.A message for the manager please STOP showing my husband and our friends the inside of your kitchen and how clean it is, until the food hygiene rating has changed we will not be dining at Undaal. Thank you for the time you have taken out to write this review, your views and comments are always appreciated.Firstly I would like to point out that the restaurant was given a 2-star rating, not 1, we have the stickers to proof this. The only reason we were given this rating was due to the fact that renovations were being carried out at the time of the visit. Things were a little untidy as you can understand but health and hygiene levels were maintained at all times. As you can see kitchen renovation is now complete and we are also working on toilets and rendering the building, all in time for the next health visitIn the meantime, if you can be a little patience it will be greatly appreciated

The four of us came here on Saturday evening. My partner and I had been here once before and I remember the restaurant having a lovely decor and the food being lovely. We all had the mixed kebab for a starter and the meats were cooked really nice they were tender and had a lot of flavour. My partner and I had lamb naga and a chilli chicken murgi we like our food quite hot. Both dishes were delicious and the cheese and garlic naan bread was very tasty too along with the mushroom rice. Our friends who had never been loved the food too. The staff were very polite and professional. Being able to bring your own alcohol too is good as it keeps the cost down. Highly recommend this place definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Will be coming again soon with our other friends.

We tried this place on a wet Wednesday whilst camping at nearby Woverley. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the restaurant was comfortable and pleasantly decorated. We ordered a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced and very nice, we had starters of chicken pakoras and sheek kebab followed by lamb rogan and chicken pathia with a naan and pilau rice. The currys were really good, tender lamb and succulent chicken in well spiced sauces (probably the best Pathia we've ever had), the rice was light and fluffy and the naan was lovely. We found the starters a little disappointing as the pakora batter was greasy and the kebabs lacked spice but overall the meal was really good and we'll go again when we're next in the area.

I have been to Cafe Masala on a number of occasions in the past and the food and service has always been good; however, our last visit will be our final visit as the actions of the manager were unprofessional and hostile. The restaurant was busy when we arrived on Saturday 28th October but they found us a table, took a drinks order and then returned for the food order. We decided not to have poppadoms but went for starters instead. After 35 minnutes without anything appearing, the staff member who took the order came over and asked if we were still waiting for our starter. We said yes and he disappeared...no apology, no explanation. He never returned to let us know how long it would be so, after a further 10 minutes, we got up to leave. The manager came over and told us (loudly and aggressively) that the food was being prepared and that this was a restuarant and everything was cooked form fresh. I did understand that food was freshly cooked but it doesn't normally take 45 minutes to cook a starter. If they were short-staffed in the kitchen (highly likely), they could have explained, apologised and offered us some poppadoms but they didn't deem that appropriate and generally ignored us.We sat back down and 5 minnutes later a bowl of Raita was placed on the table (not elegantly it has to be said) and then nothing happened. So, 55 minutes after ordering, we decided enough was enough and went to pay for the drinks and leave. That's when the manager really kicked off. He was pointing animatedly at my partner, standing within her personal space and shouting at her and her friend. I suggested they left so I could pay for the drinks and he then started on me. He shouted that I should respect myself and not play with myself in the restaurant. Dear reader, I have to be honest, I really wasn't playing with myself in his restaurant and don't know what he was implying. He shouted at me to get out (always good to be thrown out of a restaurant that you've decided voluntarily to leave) and then stuck his middle finger up at me before doubling it up to give me the V sign. I hadn't been drinking and my partner and friend had consumed only one G&T each all evening. We are well-educated people who were chatting normally and causing no trouble. When we decided that 55 minnutes was too long to wait for a starter, we were verbally abused and initimdated by the manager and I find that unacceptable. Maybe he was having a bad day but, in a service industry, you can't treat customers like that. We won't be going back there but will leave you to make your own mind up. I'm sure the restaurant will reply to deny this version so you will have to be the judge based upon my previous reviews.

Was recommended this restaurant as we were staying locally. Great quality curry and friendly service. I had the tawa chicken chilli, my wife had chicken tikka masala, both very good. Would go again.

My boyfriend and I booked a table here for Saturday evening after hearing fantastic things about this restaurant. Sadly we left feeling very disappointed. As it was a Saturday it was understandably very busy but when we were shown to our table, we were surrounded by people who hadnât booked standing around waiting for availability, as there didnât appear to be anywhere for people to wait. It was uncomfortable, we were repeatedly knocked and staff struggled to fight their way through with food and drinks orders. Perhaps sacrifice one or two tables near the door or around the other side of the bar on busy nights for a little waiting area??Starters looked amazing and tasted beautiful, but the Nargis Kebab was tiny. Paneer cheese was fab. The mains however were a completely different story. My boyfriend ordered the Karahi on recommendation from the waiter. It was awful. It was a yellowy-orange colour with absolutely no flavour whatsoever. The lamb tasted as though it had been boiled to within an inch of its life and just slapped in the tasteless âsauceâThe Lamb Tawa tasted good but the pieces of meat were so tiny, almost shredded. Not the best. We usually visit Cellars over the road and have never had a bad meal there but had heard so many good things about Bombay Pickles that we felt we had to give it a try. It has a totally different feel to it. Cellars is quite intimate and has a relaxed feel to it, ideal for couples dining out. Bombay Pickles seemed a bit more slap-dash and I would suggest probably more suited to groups of people who want a curry after a few beers around the town. Staff were lovely, drinks were good too but as I mentioned already, the atmosphere wasnât what we were looking for and Iâm sorry, the mains were so bad we wonât be back.

I hadnât previously been here, having a preference for the very good food on offer at the Indian restaurant directly opposite. But I had been meaning to for ages, as this has always had a good report from others. If I am being honest I donât think it is quite as good as the competition, and yet still cost us £35 plus tip for a meal and drinks for two, and one of those was the special offer deal. But there were no complaints about the food at all - starters, naan and mains were all very enjoyable, and we had a very pleasant evening - seated and served quickly, offers of complimentary drinks at the end of the meal and very friendly staff when settling the bill. We didnât sit downstairs but I did have a quick peek down there as it is quite a unique setting, with the old brick and arches giving an intimate and atmospheric setting, and good to have the choice of this or the upstairs tables, and itâs great how the area for collecting takeaways is separated off from dining in.

Welcome to indiluxe Restaurant located in stourbridge, come in and try our fantastic authentic dishes that are freshly preapred to order. We have a fantastic lunch time menu take away menu banquet menu and dine in al cart menu on offer making us the ideal
Not even a free poppadom, raita and a very nicely presented salad is enough to save this place.Curry arrived lukewarm. Onion Bhajis were all gramflour and no onion, stodgy and dry.Curry was off the chefs favourites section (really?),rated as hot but was very mild No sign of any garlic when we ordered extra. No sauce to dip the naan into. Could only taste chicken,no hint of any herbs or spices. Both of us ended throwing it away, waste of £30.Worst but 1 curry I've ever had out of thousands and that 1 will never be beaten. I would be ashamed if I'd cooked that for someone. I would've tasted it first and started again.

A great experience! Greeted at the door, treated like proper customers - (addressed as sir/madam) - given a table immediately, poppadoms delivered within a couple of minutes, soft drink order offered (this place is not licensed but there is a Co-op nearby for alcohol purchases). Our order was taken and the food was excellent, very tasty, plenty of it, well impressed. it was also very reasonably priced. A free car park behind too.I hadn't been here for over 30 years but willc ertainly be making another visit very soon!

A really good eating experience, one of the best Indian restaurants we have eaten at in recent weeks. Great food, excellent service and friendly staff. Good value for money, with BYOB and complimentary drinks at the end of the meal makes for a firm favourite of ours.
