Owner Markus is serving always with a smile, his staff equally friendly and efficient.Typical austrian dishes servedSoups - tried several on different occasions - all of them very tasty.Main course - any of the Knödel dishes or typical Schnitzel (almost too large) are recommendable. We had a "Eispalatschinke" typical pancake with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream - very nice!Menu of the day is well priced at 8,1 ⬠(soup & main dish)The biggest plus - a large outdoor seating area with an old chestnut tree This is not a fine dine restaurant, but good value for money and very friendly service.
Die Frische schmeckt man, preislich im gehobenen Bereich, aber der äuÃerst gemütliche Gastgarten lockt immer wieder mal hierher. Mittagsmenü´s sind wirklich ausgezeichnet.

Good food and good atmosphere. We had the grillpfanne and the hauspfanne and both were of good quality. Staff was very friendly. And the overall atmosphere was very pleasant.

Excellent food. The restaurant was very busy when we went but the staff were very quick and efficient. We had a table of 20 and they had no trouble keeping us fed and watered. Highly recommended for traditional Austrian and European food.

My Boyfriend has written a rewvie following our recent visit to Wels:Being originally from Wels, I love having lunch or dinner at this place whenever I am back in town.My family has been going to this restaurant for 3 generations now, and while the interior has been modernised in recent years, food quality and service have remained as excellent as ever. The beef broth, available with various garnishes (pancake strips, liver dumplings, etc.), is very, very tasty as starter. For main course, local favourites like Schnitzel, Schweinsbraten (roast pork) or Gulasch are available as well as seasonal delicacies like venison or lighter meals such as fish or pasta.A real treat for dessert are the varying homemade and locally sourced cakes (ice cream is available as well).Obermairâs Wirtshaus can also be recommended for a traditional Austrian âJauseâ (cold dinner), for which you can choose from various traditional and extremely tasty cold dishes. In short, if you are looking for good Austrian food, this is the place to go! (Make sure to have a booking if you want a table on weekends â itâs very busy!)

Just eaten here this evening and wanted to add my commendation to what is an excellent restaurant.Attentive staff even brought me a copy of National Geographic when they realised I was dining alone this evening.Started with speciality Mushroom served, served warm into my bowl at the table. followed by exquisite wild boar and finished with a marvellous selection of Austrian Cheeses.Ok so at 50⬠it wasn't the cheapest meal in town, but for a really elegant treat I would highly recommend Lowenkeller when next in Wels.

So, Saturday night in Wels. Need food.Trip advisor no 1 restaurant/hotel (where we're staying is closed) so no. 2 it is.A walk in the Main Street and everything looks closed. We arrive at Gosserbrau, walk through an alleyway into a great seating area where most of the local population seem to be. Lovely traditional cuisine (pork medallions in sauce) and goulash and French fries with wine, aperol spritz, 2 beers for â¬40 Perfect for what we needed.Would highly recommend if you want good traditional food at very reasonable prices in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

traditional austrian restaurant called GASTHAUSvery nice typical austrian cuisine, the owners do the job themselves prices are very reasonable and service is quite friendlyplease add this restaurant to your web site
One of the few eating options we could find on an August Thursday evening in central Wels. The Zur Linde is a typical old-style Austrian Gasthaus, with some charm, including the traditional built-in benches. We enjoyed our draught beer, gruener Veltliner, delicious Schollenfilet (fried plaice) with boiled potatoes and gemischte Salate. Friendly service from our waiter Martin. The following morning we spotted another nearby place which would appeal to fans of traditional Austrian inns - the Hotel Gösserbräu, which also has an attractive beer garden/outdoor restaurant.
