I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a beautiful place in South Tyrol to spend your holidays or a weekend. This amazing-panorama mountain hotel provides plenty of possibilities: hiking, climbing (Schlern, Rosengarten â¦), mountain-bike, horse-riding, ice skating / swimming (Wolfsgrubener See), skiing (Rittner Horn). But you can also do window-shopping in Bozen (20km) or in Brixen (40km).The new house is simply beautiful and cozy. The delicious cuisine offers not only the traditional dishes but also other excellent alternatives. The hotel owners makes you feel at home, and after 1-day full of activities you´ll be in seventh heaven at the sauna. I simply adore this place!!

I was in Castelrotto for a week and during my daily walks I arrived in S Osvaldo, a small location very characteristic of Alto Adige.I eaten first a piece of strudel: excellent!!!and then I have lunch with fantastic goulash and canederli: local specialities!I will come back!

Signaterhof is a special place. Beautifully located on the mount Renon overlooking Bozen, it is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. We never fail to stop there on our way to or back from other valleys in South Tyrol, as the food here is magnificent, it is South Tyrolian cuisine as it should always be. Actually, it's more than that. The owners-chef have perfected it to make it a high art. Venison fillets, farmer's pan (pork and potatoes), pumpkin soup... It is all delicious, and a wonderful encounter between more Northern, Germanic cuisine with Italian flavours.

We went to this restaurtant many times, both in the summer and in winter and we always went out satisfied in our body and soul! Pitschlmann offers a very high quality food (typical local food but also deviations to the standard menu and they are always trying to accomodate your needs if you ask for something particular) in a very welcoming, warm location. The courses are generous and very tasteful but not too heavy. The owners are extremely nice and smiling and the prices are honest. On summer Fridays they propose a buffet mixed grilled that is really fantastic. Check the opening days before going (in low season it may be closed). The owners also run a very nice lunch restaurant in a mervellous place with great mountains sight at the "Malga Tuff", reachable through an inspiring walk from Fié: a perfect location to spend a day.

This restaurant is conveniently located near the town center. You can dine inside or there is a lovely patio area too. The food is really good - rustic Mediterranean - lots of fresh pasta dishes (like one with shaved truffles) - huge portions -great value - great service....and they have food for celiacs. This place was recommend to us by some tour guides who go there whenever they are in town and I too highly recommend it.Everyone we met who worked at the restaurant spoke Italian, German, and English and so help with the menu was easy.

Started with a glass of wine on the terrace enjoying a spectacular view of the Dolomites.Food was really very very good, with a lot of customising to accommodate gluten and lactose allergies. Chose the asparagus (cooked perfectly al dente), ham and potato, as well as the "Tris" - combination of freshly made savoury dumplings and a kid of ravioli. We returned a couple of days later and were offered an off-the-menu Porterhouse steak which was simply sublime. The wines are also very good.Took our dogs with us, no problem.Had eaten in a "posh" restaurant in Nose and other restaurants in the Ritten area, but nothing could compare with Haidgerberhof.

We stopped here for lunch after a walk around Renon. Food was okay, nothing special. The service was excellent and friendly. The Weiner Schnitzel was dry and came with very few potatoes. Seemed a bit impoverished. The ravioli was too oily. I would go back here because it was certainly not a disaster but for Italy the food was marginal.

i visited patscheider hof for lunch with my son. it is a beatuful old house on the mountains and as a fantastic view. very simple decoration but the point here is service and food. we ordered tirol plate (local cured meat and cheese), tagliatelle with venison ragu, a local meal caled gröstl and wiener schnitzel. they have their own vineyards and as a result their own wine, which served with the meal. everything were delicious and wine tasted light but ok with the food. schnitzel was extraordinary good. i tasted once or twice in my life such a soft and juicy meat at schnitzel. so, if you plan to drive to the mountains i strongly recommend to stop here for lunch.
