Visit with our family of four after a nice mountain walk. The food is good and the view impressive. We had traditional pancakes (kaiserschmarren), kinder schnitzel and a sandwich with bacon. All where prepared nicely. Excellent place to go.

We have been visiting the Thalmuhle for a number if years due to the atmosphere, the consistently good food and the friendly service.Everything about the restaurant is what you would expect from a traditional Tyrollean restaurant. Wooden interior, small windows and homely touches. The restaurant comprises two rooms. Whilst both are cosy try to get into the main room as has separate booths and is the cosier of the two.The food is of a consistently good standard with the focus being on local delicacies. The Muhlradl with spaetzle is my favorite but everything we have ordered has been delicious. The restaurant is family run and the service is efficient and friendly. For a good value meal and a taste of the Tyrol- try to visit when there is harp music- this is the place to go.Make sure you book as is always full - it is popular with locals.
I visited this restaurant twice during my recent stay. The food was well priced and the very tasty. It was served relatively quickly (it was quiet though). The waitress was friendly and attentive. The building itself has great character and has a bar adjacent so you can have a drink before or after your meal. I would highly recommend a visit.
Small cozy restaurant with 60 seats inside and 30 seats on the terrace. There is a fenced children's playground next to the terrace and a children's play room as well as a youth room inside the house. Among other things trout from the own fish breeding an
Visited for an afternoon coffee with friends. I had stayed here nine years ago and was so happy to receive a lovely welcome back hug and a huge slice of delicious cake. Lovely staff food and perfect position for ski slopes x

On our last day in Oberau we ventured up to this place, used to be easily accessible when the old T-bar lift was working, now it is quite a steep walk. The outside of the building does not convey the charm of the interior.Well worth the walk, but beware if the flag is not flying it may not be open.

We came upon this cafe after a ramble from the neighbouring village of Auffach towards Oberau took us along a steep footpath through the woods and brought us out into the hamlet of Roggenboden. The licensed cafe, whilst doing traditional tyrolean hot dishes, really specialises in turning ice-cream sundaes into works of art! These desserts were a real treat, the service was friendly and efficient, and the visit didn't break the bank. Be aware that the signage in the road isn't very clear and the cafe itself hadn't put up any signs to say they were open! So, if in doubt, ask a local and try the door!!danke

Traditional Tyrollean restaurant with traditional Tyrollean food. Has a lovely atmosphere especially when the zither player is there. The food is good quality and good value. Would definitely recommend it.

Lovely owner kept the restaurant open for us on a Sunday night, we had a delicious meal. The quantities are HUGE, so come hungry! An interesting feature is the caramelised fruit they serve with savoury dishes. Nice choice of Austrian wines (mostly Burgenland). Freshly prepared pancake for dessert. We plan to come back during daytime to be able to enjoy the view even better.
