On the Loferer Alm mountain you can walk for hours and hours and enjoy the sun and views. Despite many tourists it doesnt feel overloaded with tourists in the summer. In the winter a different story as it attracts more tourists but not the main typical kind that you know from the well known standard ski resorts. When you are here on the Loferer Alm Soderkaser is actually the most well known place. Doesnt look big but it is. And well known under the locals and recommended as well. The apfel struddle here is one of the better ones in the area. So give it a try with the warm vanilla sauce. Daily fresh. You can also get other food and there is a wide range of choice so for everybody to pick. When lucky you can enjoy the live music by local musicians in local folklore. During summer the terace can be packed as well as in the winter. But inside there is loads of space and clean (during our visit at least) and well maintained bathrooms. Something you dont find often. Do be carefull that you dont fortget the lift to the village as Soderkaser remains open a bit longer than the lift. And walking down can cost you an hour or even longer.

Our party of eight adults and children had two lovely meals at this restaurant during our recent stay in Lofer. The service was helpful and friendly. The first night we went we all had the very reasonably priced buffet that had something for everyone in abundance. The second visit was from the main menu and the food was excellent, wholesome and plentiful. Highly recommended. Thank you for visitigen the Körberl and hope to see you again at your next Holiday in LoferKind regards Regine Färbinger
Stopped here while hiking, very friendly staff , a beautiful classic Austrian building full of character, superb local dishes on the menu and incredible views and must be equally great place in the ski season.

The whole village was very quiet and it was disappointing that we lunched alone but our turkey dish was delicious, beautifully presented and freshly cooked. We enjoyed a good selection of fresh salad to start with. The decor is very traditional and we could imagine how busy it might get during the ski season. Clean linen table cloths and attractive table decorations set the scene. One to try.

When skiing the Almenwelt Lofer then you maybe get on to the 8seater new chairlift on to the Schwarzeck. When you may need a rest then this Kuhbar is a bit less crowed and a nice place to relax and enjoy the deckchair offered here free of charge. You have a nice atmosphere - not so much crowded as the other Jausen restaurant on the alm - and a good beer and some food, a soup, bratwurst or maybe a pizza. We enjoyed it very much sitting in the sun and having this atmosphere.

As English people eating in a foreign establishment it can sometimes be a little daunting. An Italian themed restaurant in an Austrian village did concern me, however, we shouldn't have worried about it at all. The staff were friendly and helpful and they spoke to us in English, superb ambience, efficient service but not the cheapest. Having said that it all tasted great. ....we have visited this restaurant on 3 occasions and it was worth paying a little more. They have a good chef and he produces a varied special of the day. ...which appears to be very popular. ...Great restaurant

We eat here very time we visit Austria. We actually stay in the next village, but it's become a tradition to visit the Schweizer for Sunday lunch. We are even recognised by the waiter, who has been there years. That's pretty impressive considering we are only annual visitors! The food is always extremely good, the service excellent and the restaurant itself is extremely attractive. It's a great place to eat when in Lofer and we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Those who reviewedby his place as average must be some spoiled souls and should never go on the camping holidays again. This place is outstanding, friendly, beautiful, food is fantastic as well. We will recommend it to anybody and will be going back.

Welcome to our restaurant and biologic farm in Lofer. We are a family organisation. We want to offer regional food with local ingrediants from our own farm.
This is perhaps one of the best places for real traditional home made mountain cabin food what the local farmers and forresters would eat during their working adventures in the mountain woods. Very simple, rustic, delicious, authentic, genuine and nutricious. Lots of calories but after a good day of walking, hiking or climbing this is a must to recover quickly. The owners do the cooking and serve the food themselves. They only have a few tables inside and wise to make a reservation as they also host many local guests or from their own guest appartments. The place is located almost in the middle of nowhere. But easy access by car or when passing by by foot or mountainbike. The prices are low and they are such nice people. I like this place a lot and I highly recommend it. They deserve your visit. The menu is small and simple. No long wine lists or so. Please keep that in mind. Just like the most people only speak German and no English.
