We were here twice for family lunch. The food is really excellent, especially the venison, but also the old fashioned Backhendl. They breed their own deer in a field and forest close to the restaurant. The prices are not low, but reasonable for the high quality. Much of the food is organically grown. Our waitress was vey friendly and service was fast.

After 20 years in existence this Gem finally was found. Off the beaten tracks between Thal, Voitsberg and Stains this family operated business offers a small but very delicious choice of Styrian food and even has a self created Styrian Cordon bleu.Finished off by a shot for the adults I am more than satisfied and the biggest surprise is that this freshly made food is cheaper than cooking it by myself!looking forward to many returns in the next years!

The place is unusual but pleasant , an ancient vaulted cellar with an open kitchen in the same room , then at the back a separate room , a kind of sitting room for smokers. Restrooms outside which is a bit inconvenient in cold and snowy weather . Fish and sea food on the menu, cooked to perfection. Friendly service, good atmosphere. The musicians change all the time so we can only give our opinion on the one we listened to on that evening, he was excellent. We highly recommend the place if you are looking for something different than what you usually expect in that region.

Essen 1a (es wird alles wirklich frisch zubereitet - da wartet man gerne ein paar Minuten länger) - Pizza schmeckt toll und ist reichlichst belegt - Steak kann man sich am 400grad heiÃen Stein selber fertigmachen - Hausbier ist super

Gleich neben der Kirche mitten in Ligist gelegen das Gasthaus Gangl.Ein groÃer Essraum für Raucher (leider) und ein eher kleiner abgeschlossener Raum für Nichtraucher. Leider haben die Wirtsleute noch nicht gemerkt, dass es wesentlich mehr Leute gibt, die beim Essen keine Störung durch Raucher haben wollen.Die blonde Bedienung ist sehr höflich und sehr flott. Toll wie sie auf die Gäste eingeht und ihre Wünsche erfüllt.Das Essen ist geschmackig gut und tlw. sehr viel. Der Salat schmeckt wirklich lecker .Die Preise passen und man geht voll zufrieden wieder nach Hause.

Wir waren zu Besuch bei Freunden und durch diese haben wir dieses tolle gemütliche Lokal kennengelernt. Typisch österreichische kalte Speisen wie Jausenplatten mit Brot Käse, Schinken, Schweinebraten etc. Wir hatten eine tolle Platte für 4 Personen und zum Nachtisch gab es eine Variation typischer österreichischer Mehlspeisen. Alles unglaublich lecker und zu einem sagenhaften Preis. Man kann auch eigens hergestellte Produkte dort kaufen. Bei wärmeren Temperaturen gibt es im Freien viele Sitzmöglichkeiten, die einen herrlichen Blick über Ligist bieten. Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam.

Nettes Ambiente an der Bar und an den Tischen in der Stube. GroÃe Auswahl an Speisen, schneller Service. Rodelhang direkt vor der Türe, oder unendliche Möglichkeiten zum Wandern. Nebelfreie Fernsicht im Winter. Genügend Parkplätze vor der Türe.Einziges Manko: leider wurde im Restaurant geraucht, so daà es für Nichtraucher nicht wirklich empfehlenswert ist, wenn man auf rauchfreies Ambiente wert legt.Beim Bezahlen ist leider auch ein Fehler unterlaufen, der aber auf Nachfrage dann wieder abgezogen wurde.

We came with our family sharing all together the typical house salami: excellent and too much. We were in 6, ordered for 5 and for 4 was enough. Very various kind of hams, salami and local sausages.

We made a dinner stop traveling from Graz back to Kärnten. We picked the restaurant from Tripadvisor based on the traveling distance from Graz and the distance from the highway A2. It was a good guess. The restaurant was hard to find using the navigation, but in the end it was easy to find it. We ordered a Schnitzel Wiener art (so the variant with pork). Itâs an obvious choice, but trust me a lot can go wrong preparing a Schnitzel. However not at Herlwirt. The Schnitzel was well prepared and tasted very good. The side dishes were excellent and the service was pleasant. To conclude: Herlwirt is a nice place to stop for a quick bite. Close to the A2 and nice staff. We will keep Herlwirt in our restaurant list!
