Very friendly staff, good wines but the food was sadly below average. Way too much use of oil. I think the 'grilled' fish was actually deep fried.

My wife and I had lunch here on a rainy day in mid-June. The Hut is warm and inviting and the staff and guests were all friendly. It is mostly frequented by locals or Austrians on a hiking day or trip. We got there via the gondola but others had obviously been hiking in the hills. The meaty soup we both had was delicious and quite filling, well worth 8 Euros.

We sat down on the almost empty terrace on a hot Saturday after 2 pm. I orderd fish with parsley-postatoes, my hubend tried the pork knuckle with dumpling. The fish came with a serve-yourself salad. We very very satisfied in the end, the portions very huge and tasty.Thank you very much for your positive review.

Our excursion restaurant has closed seasonally from the end of October to May 2020. By May 2020, we have reopened!
We visited this Gasthaus for lunch, during a hike around the Hallstatt lake. They have outdoors tables and the view over the lake and mountains is breathtaking. We ordered a portion of fried chicken, a typical "snack" made by buttered bread, cheese and salami and a slice of poppy-seed cake, an apple juice and a small radler beer for a total of â¬30. They have English menu and the staff is friendly. Recommended!
You will be enchanted in our à la carte restaurant with culinary delights from our region and from around the world. We are happy to recommend you a good wine from our own wine cellar! Gluten-free and lactose free kitchen on reservation in the Hotel Somme
We ate here on the spur of the moment as we were driving past. We were surprised by how nice it was. We only wanted a light meal & the Club sandwich was big enough for the two of us to share after having the French Onion Soup. It was nice to see a sign up saying they'd appreciate everyone not using their mobile phones in the dining room. The waitresses were all in traditional dress & the service was quite good. They have, like a lot of hotels in Austria, half board and they had a Bain Marie set up with a wide selection of food & wines for those staying at the hotel. A nice meal at a good price.
A family run hotel/restaurant with traditional interior. The food is freshly made and very tasty, I particularly recommend the Frittatensoup! We visited the restaurant many times during our holiday and no matter how busy the restaurant was the staff were always very friendly and made us feel welcome. This little gem is the best place to eat in Gosau.

On the way home from Gossausee we have stopped at "Moosalm" as it looked very nice and had a cool sun terrace.I wanted to order a "bosna" but it was sold out so I went for a grilled sausage + french fries for 6,50 while my wife had a cake for 2,80. The cake was not fresh, it was from the fridge and heated. My grilled sausage was kind of poor or average, fries were a lot but I had expected better for 6,50 EUR and not a pair of supermarket sausage. Service was very very slow. Cards not accepted.

We dined inside after hiking the beautiful lake. Had a great trout dinner (huge silver plate), schnitzel, beers, and strudel. Gorgeous view and good service.

Delicious, traditional Austrian food in a lovely place and friendly staff. In addition to that a small place for kids to play. Definitly Gosauâs best. Sehr gutes, traditionelles österreichisches Essen in netter Umgebung und mit freundlichem Personal. Auf alle Fälle die Nr. 1 in Gosau.

This family-run restaurant in the Salzkammergut is a hidden little gem. Gasthof Echo offers local dining at its best with reasonable prices. The menu is seasonally based and much of the food and fish is locally sourced or is freshly hunted game. On the last occasion the venison ragout was superb and the hot chocolate cake was delicious. The service is always welcoming and friendly and the view over the fields is charming. Can't wait to go again!
