This place is just wonderful,, very simple yet very good by all means, food is soo fresh and delicious I’ve dined there twice and probably would have gone again if I stayed longer,, the simple decoration in the middle of the woods with the spectacular views of the lake makes the dining experience absolutely in the nature with good food and service... seriously do not miss the saibling fish as it is as fresh as possible coming directly from the lake in front of you .... just perfect!

Escaping the tourist invasion in Hallstatt, this lovely gasthaus in the woods was a welcome retreat with the river flowing to add to the ambiance. Great summer terrace. The food is both traditional and modern with such surprises as seibling carpaccio or homemade goat cheese noodles with mushrooms, spinach and pesto. Everything was first rate and presented well. This place is a hidden gem for sure. Must visit.

My wife and I ate here twice in April. It is across the stream from the Bad Aussee post amp on a second floor. Seemed to be authentic Austrian food. We never saw patrons that were tourists. First time we had a ground pork/cabbage loaf wrapped in a pastry crust. Served with parsley potatoes it was especially hearty and was the "tages menu". The second time my wife had a very nice turkey salad with a wonderful olive oil dressing and I had the tages menu again which was pizza with various meats. Servings were extra generous and the wait staff attentive. One waitress spoke good english and the other enough. Recommended!

From the moment we sat down we were treated to a pure gastronomic delight, from the six different butter accompaniments to the bread, the Amuse Bouche, the exquisite presentation of all dishes, to the chocolate and fruit at the end. This should definitely be a Michelin starred restaurant and I have eaten at a few of these, this being far better than some. I would particularly like to mention the waiter who was only young, was utterly charming, and shook our hand when we left. I can't praise this restaurant highly enough.

We have had dinner here already many times. That is because the food is really good here. So is the service. Therefore we will keep coming back here. This time I had the grillteller (mixed grill) (Euro 15,90) and it was perfect. Absolutely a recommendation for this one.

Tonight we enjoyed a family dinner in this family restaurant. The mixed grill with frittes was delicious and plentiful. It included chicken, steak, sausage, bacon and lots of perfectly crisp fries. The pork medallions with potato cakes was tender and scrumptious. There was so much food we took about half a serving with us. Of course we saved room for dessert. Three of us shared the raspberry ice cream sundae. It was HUGE! Tons of real whipped cream and vanilla ice cream, with loads of red raspberries and sauce. Truly amazing! The bill for three dinner entrees, two salads, two cocktails, tea, cappuccino and dessert was just under 60 euro. What a deal :)
