This was our first hike and we took a bit of a detour, but it was well worth it when we got to the top. Ate the famous 'Kaiserschmarren'. Great service and fantastic location.
In a stunning location, offering great sustenance for walkers - well worth the climb. Advise talking the forest walk up and the valley footpath down.

Traditional menu with a choice of meat, fish and vegetarian options, well cooked and attractively presented food. Staff were lovely, professional and attentive. Price wise, on a par with the other restaurants in Alpbach, service as good as the local 4* hotels.

THis is an amazing farm where they serve hot "pink milk" to a secret recipe. Whilst the menu is not big, the food is so fresh it comes direct from the animals on the farm next door. Eggs are to die for and portions are extremely generous. It is high above the village although can walk to it. The sunset is spectacular.

Worth a trip just to ethics lovely working chalet and how it is built. Quaint and packed with character. Simple and traditional local mountain food that is reasonably priced. Best place on the mountain so far. House Schnaps before skiing down is well worth â¬2.50

This is a regular during holidays in Alpbach. It can get very busy. It is very popular with locals and visitors alike. The service can sometimes be a little âvagueâ but is generally acceptable; most staff are very good. On my last visit I had, possibly, the best T-bone steak that I have ever had. Traditionally furnished. The restaurant is comfortable and accessible to wheelchairs

Visited the Jacber this lunch time,It was very quite as was the whole villageFood was good, and service fine.Though they were oven chips, they were some of the best I have hadPlace was clean and tidy, and did not experience anyone smoking as previous correspondents have.Perhaps they should display signs warning that smoking is allowedAll in all good lunch

We came here for dinner and decided to treat ourselves. Very traditional, posh place with an upmarket atmosphere. Still we decided to splash out.The food was very good and the service impeccable (thank you Torsten). For dessert tried the local delicacy on recommendation - cinnamon covered asparagus. Did not work for us, but nice to try something a bit different now and then. Overall enjoyed the experience, albeit on the expensive side....

Weâve been visiting Alpbach for the last 10 years, summer and winter and have often stopped into the Post Alm for a drink or bite to eat but this year, it seems itâs certainly not the place it once was!We were served by the same grumpy barman as a previous reviewer who, when giving us our change for a couple of drinks, decided to give us one euro short. Surely, itâs our decision if we want to leave a tip? There are plenty of other excellent options in Alpbach so will think twice before going back if thatâs their new policy.

Reaching the end of the valley you find this civilized mountain resturant. A wonderful view to overlook the entire Alpbach valley. Roast pork with sauce is outstanding, served every Sunday or order in advance on other days. Kind service and even a home made Schnapps to end the experience, complimentary of course. Enjoy.
