Thought we would try dining here again. Staff were very busy but we waited over 5 minutes to be given a table as they continued to serve people that were in line to order meals or standing at the bar ordering drinks, but we were standing where it said wait to be seated as we had a reservation. Staff walked past us several times but did not acknowledge us or make any form of greeting. We were deciding whether to leave when finally a very rude male staff member (I believe his name was Shaun) asked us if we had a table. Informed him that we had a booking and then he proceded to talk to another couple in the ordering line asking if they had a table. So far not impressed with their service. Next I hear Shaun say "I can deal with 2 customers at once madam" in a very rude tone. The meals have improved quite a bit since our last visit. There was one male staff member who was delivering meals to tables and he was so cheerful, polite and helpful and certainly made guest feel relaxed. Perhaps other staff working that night need to take some lessons from him. Sadly he was not wearing a name badge otherwise I would certainly be mentioning his name.
Stopped here for lunch and not impressed with food that was served. Had the crispy beef wrap. Absolutely disgusting. Beef was neither crispy or tender. Wrap was so oily that I just couldn't eat it. My husband had a chicken and bacon panini which was drowned in ranch sauce and bland!! Also had an Energy drink made up of different juices and ginger. This was really nice and refreshing. Great if you want a drink, forget the food!!

The Vegas Bar & Restaurant is located in the Westland Hotel Motel. With a team of 5 Chef's and 4 apprentices it offers a large modern bistro style menu with some pub favourites included. All meals includes a large buffet style salad and vegetable bar.
Been here numerous times. Food is always good. Large menu selection including daily specials. Staff always friendly and helpful. I keep coming back each time I visit Whyalla for work.

Bottle & Bird is one of a kind!! It is a takeaway food shop attached to the Westland Hotel Motel bottle shop. It offers a quick and convenient drive through service of all sorts of takeaway foods including Hot BBQ Chickens, Chips, Burgers, Seafood and muc
We ate here for dinner while staying at the Westlands Motel. The prices are reasonable for your average Take-away shop and the food tasted good and fresh. Schnitzel Burger was about $10.Because this place is linked in with the Westland Hotel they allowed us to eat the food in the front bar where we could enjoy a drink with our food.

The Alexander fell in a big hole some years back so I would stay elsewhere when I came up for work. Happy to say it has recovered and we had two great meals there last week. Try the fillet mignon, it just melts in the mouth, also try the sea food platter. Not an extensive winelist but you can find something you will like. Good service by the hard working Aimee. Thanks for the review and yes the standard dropped for a short period when I sold the business a few years ago but as you saw i have been investing a lot of capital into the business and its facilities even in hard times

A very nice atmosphere with very friendly staff. We happened to go on schnitzel night which meant $14.50 for a schnitzel, chips and choice of sauce. Complimentary salad and vegetable bar. The chicken schnitzel was a good size and wasn't dry. Good chips on the side. Thanks for the feed back. Glad you enjoyed Schnitzel night.

I really did not expect such quality of dining experience in a relatively remote area. The view is beautiful and the service friendly and efficient. Over a three night period, I had consistently gorgeous food, coconut prawns, eye fillet and duck breast ..... it was difficult to pick which my favourite would have been. The meals are not cheap, but are the equal of any city dining experience in urban Australia.

We ate 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners here. Breakfast we had eggs and bacon and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Dinners we had oysters natural each night which were lovely and big and fresh. Steaks, prawns, tomato soup and lamb rump all were delicious and presented delicately. The staff were very efficient and attentive to your needs.
