1806, the year that defined the Cocktail. Since its humble beginnings in 2007, 1806 has very quickly reached international recognition, winning the award for The Worlds Best Cocktail Menu in 2008. Since then it has become firmly steeped in the Melbourne c
I booked a whisky tasting for my husband's birthday. The tasting was done by our wonderful guide Yasmin, who took us through the very interesting history of whisky in the beautiful setting that is 1806. We enjoyed whisky samples paired with lovely food, and finished off with cocktails. I would definitely recommend this to anyone seeking something different.

Afternoon tea at The Hotel Windsor is a quintessential Melbourne experience, steeped in tradition. Our hotel has proudly served over two million guests since 1883.
Had a wonderfully delicious and decadent Afternoon Tea experience at this fine old Melbourne establishment. The service and all wait staff were friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous, and plenty of it.Starting with the afternoon tea staples on the tiered stand to then being able to enjoy a sumptuous dessert buffet. Macarons, Chocolate Fountain, Cakes big and small, so many to choose from.Wonderful afternoon out.Dear Julie K,Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at The Hotel Windsor. Itâs so pleasing to hear that the afternoon tea offerings met your expectations and that our valued staff from the restaurant team to the pastry team could help to make the visit a memorable one.We hope to see you return again soon.Kind Regards,Kara Bobbera

Just moved into a new office in the same precinct and were searching for a decent place nearby. Happen to come across Top Paddock. It was indeed a great choice. The ambiance, hospitality everything you ask was of top notch. The coffee (latte double shot) was one of the finest I have ever had in Melbourne. The breakfast dish eggs benedict was just awesome (Slow Cooked Pulled Beef Brisket) was cooked to perfection. Well since my new office in just 50 meters away, I am sure I will be visiting this awesome place many more times in near future.

This was a special occasion dinner with our family and Cutler & Co certainly didnât disappoint. The service was first class, friendly, professional and attentive while the ambience was wonderful. The sommelier was especially helpful and knowledgeable when deciding between two wines on the list. The food was delicious except for our daughterâs fish which was unfortunately over cooked. She was disappointed as the dinner was in her honour and she didnât enjoy her main course. However, my husband thought his chicken was divine while my other daughter and I chose a vegetarian pasta which was flavourful and filling. The whole table were particularly taken with the entrees although Serrano ham was substituted in one of the dishes as the restaurant had run out of bresaola, which we thought would be a highlight on the menu provided. The two dessert options were nice and there was also a wide selection of cheeses.Despite a couple of minor issues I would have no hesitation in recommending Cutler & Co for a wonderful night out.

What would be a great spot to enjoy your night is felt extremely rushed and spoiled by their ridiculous time-limited (1.5 hour) seating. How they believe this is a good business model is beyond me. My partner and I were looking to order many food items as well as spend copious amounts on drinks, but this was not possible under their seating rules. Felt more like a âMaccaâsâ drive through than a proper establishment. Great cocktails, but expect to only have one and done. Food is subpar. Cheers.Hello Aronneramodirosa, Thank you for your feedback on your recent visit to Eau-de-Vie and sorry to hear you had an underwhelming experience. As a high volume cocktail bar we allow a 90minute seating time to ensure people can get into the venue without having to queue too long for a table. I feel that 90 mins is enough time to consume at least 3 cocktails and food from our al a carte menu. We would love to speak with you in more detail regarding your 1 star rating. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] if you would like to discuss further.

Popular place with plenty outdoor and inside seating.Great menu choice with all day brekkie items and some more lunch type options. My friend had eggs benny which looked and tasted great. I opted for the super bowl with added chicken. Huge portion and filled me for the day, tasty as anything too. Unfortunately I thought my coffee wasnât anything special for Melbourne terms hence 4/5. Would still return though.

We booked this restaurant for international guests and ourselves looking for seafood. Lived in Melb for decades and never heard of this place. Well we were really impressed. The staff, Mike from SA in particular, were excellent. They accommodated our special request to try a wide range of seafood. We ended up having 9 different selections including trout tartare, Tas and Sydney oysters, calamari, king prawns, lobster, snapper, salmon, whiting. We all shared it all. Sides we had excellent crunchy chips and baby potatoes in rosemary and garlic and a great pear and pinenut and rocket and lime salad. The wine list was also sensational and Mike was helpful with the selection of wine too. You can see my other many reviews and I have not spoken so highly of another restaurant. All they need to do is improve their music selection and a little work on lighting and ambience and decor and you have yourself 10/10. As it is I would give the food and service 10/10 and wine list 9/10 I would thoroughly recommend you give Richmond Oyster a try. Every single seafood dish was fresh and excellent.

We were in Melbourne for 4 nights and tried 4 well rated restaurants including the highly acclaimed Attica. Attica was certainly the best of the 4. On our last night, we had dinner at IDES.We tried the degustation menu priced at $180. There were at least 8 appetizers and they were all nicely plated and well combined in tastes. The scampi with beans was light and delightfully tasty. Lamb was well cooked and in a generous proportion.Service on that Sunday night was friendly, accommodating and fun.All in all, a very promising restaurant by a young chef. Worth a try!
