Things to do in Mount Isa
The last couple of times I have been here the chips have been soggy, or inedible due to old oil flavour. The chips are a big selling point for Red Rooster and here they are terribly disappointing. Had a Pulled Lamb roll and the roll looked nothing like the picture in store. Though the meat was tender it was a let down.
We didnât eat but wandered about the club to look what it had to offer. Imaginative decor creates the feeling of an Irish village. One dinning room is in a recreated tram and the foyer has a village street facade leading to facilities. The bar area provided the opportunity to sit on comfy bar stool and have a pint oâGuinness. The bar staff were friendly and helpful (even before I touched my Guinness) and made us, as strangers, feel very welcome. Foyer staff explained the difference between the grades of Waterford crystal, pointing out the examples of vases etc in the display case were the hand cut variety from the town of Waterford itself. We had a very relaxed hour there.
The Outback at Isa Café provides a range of fresh and homemade food from all-day breakfast, lunch to delicious snacks and our famous cakes - always baked fresh on site. We also cater for private and corporate functions using the freshest ingredients to me
Visited for breakfast on 2 morning. Had a breakfast of bacon and eggs and 2 slices toast for around $10. It was enough for my husband and myself. Delicious cappuccino. Throughly enjoyed the food and coffee. Easy to do and friendly smiles everywhere. Worth a stop.
We saw the ratings for this restaurant on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. What a very pleasant surprise it was to find this beautifully presented and professionally served restaurant. We had a fabulous meal here in the lovely subdued environment. The staff were excellent and the whole experience was one of the best we've had travelling in the outback. It was great value for money and highly recommended for anyone travelling to Mt Isa looking for a good quality restaurant meal.
Usually when travelling I migrate to restaurants like Zambrero because I know they will cater for plant-based diets. Being in Isa there are limited options so I was stoked to see this place, what I didnât expect was a burrito that was as tasty as those Iâve had anywhere in the world. I also grabbed a coffee from The Coffee Lab within Zambreros which had amazing blends on offer, I recommend stopping by.

Eat here regularly on my trips through Mt Isa.I would recommend the Salmon, Lamb cutlets, or any of the steaks.I've never had the chicken options but that's because I dont eat chicken at restaurants (to risky to cook moist so most times its dry). Colleagues have had the Chicken options and had no complaints. The staff are lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. Any time I have asked for an adjustment to a meal it has been accommodated.A colleague asked for a sauce not on the menu and it was never made an issue of, in fact it was not even raised that it was not something on the menu. It simply came out with his meal and a short explanation that the Chef had to make it on the spot so if it's not quite what he likes to please send it back. He loved the sauce immensely. You can also order off the menu to your room.I recommend anyone asking me "where's good to eat" straight to the Burke & Wills.

Went for coffee at Xtra Mile with my hubby. Would like to have had something to eat but the kitchen closes at 2pm. Which I didn't know that the coffee shop closes at 3pm. But the coffee was fantastic and the cheesecake was to die for. Love all the decor on the walls. Staff was lovely.I'll be back to coffee and CHEESCAKE.

Located on the ground floor of the Isa Hotel you will find the Rodeo themed, Rodeo Bar and Grill. A modern steak house with stylish Rodeo decor and a newly updated mouth watering menu. The open style kitchen with pizza oven displays, clearly gives you the
This used to be a really, really terrible pub. It's been renovated and cleaned up and now has this pleasant family-friendly restaurant. The food was good and the meal portions generous. The atmosphere is nice and it's quite busy all week. My steak was well-cooked and the vegetables nice. It wasn't much of a wait for them to be cooked.

Located in the heart of Mount Isa, the Buffs Club is Mount Isa's largest not for profit Community Club. Open 7 days a week from 8am, our Boomerang Coffee shop offers a range of delicious breakfast options and excellent coffee. You can also relax and dine
This place was bustling with people on a very busy night. However, our meals didnt take long to be served although we thought it might with the amount of people there. Was quite noisy but we enjoyed our large meals which left us very full. The steak was excellent.
