Reviews on Australian food in Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia. The Blue Mountains are named for the delicate azure haze that lingers along the region, which is actually a fine cloud of oil emitted by eucalyptus trees. The mystical mountains are a labyrinth of plateaus, gorges and gum trees. Check out the Katoomba Scenic Railway (the steepest railway in the world), the Jenolan Caves and the Giant Staircase nature walk.

Headed here after reading all the positive reviews as well as recommend by another local traveler. Itâs a very small busy cafe off Katoomba Street and limited seating. We were greeted with a warm smile and seated straight away. The food was amazing as well as the service. As we are traveling today so we thought we would try the big brekkie. Oh my, it should be called the biggest ever brekkie. It was enough for two people to share, however we both plough through it like troopers. Payment is only by cash. Highly recommend.

When we created Palette Dining, our ambition was to produce a menu that was not limited by geography or defined by a single culinary style. Modern Australian cuisine is an amalgam of cultures and styles and our food reflects & embraces that vast breadth o
On a recent trip to the Blue Mountains, after having looked at various dining options for a Saturday night in Leura and Katoomba, we noticed Palette Dining and Diner. The menu appealed as did the appearance of the venue so we had a early dinner booking. It was delight to have dinner there and Matt and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent and Matt's recommendations from the menu proved to be the right size and mix. The home made wood fired bread and chargrilled leek with current and lentils was a perfect starting point, followed by the crisp skin salmon and lamb for the mains. We were able to fit in Palette waffles for dessert as a shared meal - the portions are perfectly suited for a shared dish. Palette is a very good choice when visiting Katoomba.

we love this place - fantastic servce, warm and welcoming on a snowy morning plus wonderful local produce. We've been here before, but even on a morning when staff couldn't get in and a limited menu, everything was lovely.

What a pleasant surprise on our last night in Katoomba. We decided at the last minute, after a recommendation, to eat here in this eclectic restaurant with a Chattanooga, Tennessee influence and were surprised to be delighted by a beautiful salad and a steamed warm sandwich with corned beef, roast beef , sauces , veggies, - absolutely delightful. Their soup of the day was a tasty lentil and vegetable soup. Together with 2 smoothies for drinks, our total dinner cost for 2 adults was $35.Great value and great service with background music being Appalachian Bluegrass.A great meal.

Blue Mountains Best Dining Experience | Darleys Restaurant. Our Blue Mountains Restaurant offers modern Australian cuisine which is served in a romantic space that features beautiful stained glassed windows, original ornate fire places, crystal chandelier
Dinner with friends while visiting the Blue Mountains. The restaurant is set in a beautiful old house and garden with views within Lilianfels Hotel. Decor is dark and opulent but not intimidating. A real feel of luxury. They only do degustation dining. Choice of 5 or 7 courses. We went for the full 7. We also opted for matched wines so we did not have to make any decisions at all. Both the food and the wine were of the highest standard. We had a great special night out. We went on a week night and it was quiet but booked out on weekends as with most of the Blue Mountains. So glad to hear you enjoyed your dinner here, Malcolm. The 7 course and matching wine is our recommendation to have the whole experience at Darleys. Furthermore, we strongly believe that decoration, high quality ingredients and exceptional service are the key to transform a dinner into a unique experience.Appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back again in Darleys. Best regards.Pablo Barduca

Since 1994 Silk's Brasserie has been the go-to restaurant for quality dining on the Blue Mountains. Warm attentive service and great food set the standard. Open 7 days for both lunch and dinner, bookings are always recommended and often essential. (Check
There are not many high quality restaurants that make you feel as welcome as Silks. The personal attention and friendliness of the owner and staff made the evening most enjoyable. We have been coming here over a number of years and the food has remained of a high quality, innovative and excellent presentation. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Owners Nathan (Chef) and Tayla (Maitre D) have taken a new and exciting approach to this heritage cottage by providing memorable food and atmosphere. Lochiel House offers an Australian A La Carte menu with heavy Asian Influences. We are about have good fu
It has been 10 years since I last dined at Lochiel with a change of owners twice in that time. However, we found the new owners to be innovative with the menu, the choices enticing and the service and attention to the detail tops.We were ushered to the small front room with only four tables for two. The lighting and the fireplace was intimate and cosy. Although the rest of the restaurant was fully booked there was no sense of overcrowding or overpowering noise. We chose to share an entree of Pork and Shallot Pot Sticker Dumplings with Black Vinegar Dressing and Coriander, tangy and tasty and certainly enough for two of us to enjoy as a starter. For mains Crispy Skinned Duck Breast and Braised Pork Belly with a side of Fried Brussel Sprouts with Sweet and Sour Seasoning. All perfect, particularly the sprouts.Although totally satiated after mains, the Orange and Chocolate, Five Spice, Orange Icecream and Ginger appealed to my sweet tooth and my partner chose the Plum Meringue with Coconut and Chia Sorbet and Compressed Fruit. All scrumptious. We left feeling very mellow and particularly appreciated that we could bring one of our favourite Hunter Valley wines.

Staying at Black Gold Motel at Wallerawang (Wang to locals)! Very comfy motel with great rooms & beds and the 'Crib Room' restaurant was fantastic. Awesome rib fillet steak with a bit of Shiraz to drink plus some gluten free sticky date pudding! I'm happy! Just have to be careful on the frosty roads in the morning.Hi There, Thank you for your review of our Crib Room Restaurant, we appreciate all your feedback and support. This salad was beautiful, mozzarella, roasted Cherry tomatoes, crispy ham, basil and pesto. Don't underestimate the power of simple, traditional, and perfectly temperatured food. Bellasimo. Please order that. $32. My scallop tartare , i wished the scallop itself was highlighted but it was overpowered by seaweed. I wouldn't have used the pink pickled ginger either as it was way too overpowering. Enjoyed my ricotta dumplings, the fish in yoghurt was good too, but I didn't appreciate the macadamia crumb it didn't compliment the texture of the fish. Ambience was great. Service was good. Overall good. Thanks again.
