Offering brunch, lunch, and dinner, Koi is located in the heart of Evanston's bustling downtown area. The fine Asian restaurant and lounge brings the bold flavors of eight different regions of authentic Chinese cuisine and a wide variety fresh sushi. With
Seeker of the authentic culinary experience finds a variety of world cuisine in Evanston. Unfortunately, Koi serves a version of Asian food, somewhat adapted for American clientele that is diluted on flavor, and presentation. In our particular case, the service matched the underwhelming food in being numb and uninterested in the guest experience.Iâm so sorry to hear your unfortunate dining experience at koi. I apologize for the service team not helping you making the right food order. We have been service the community for over 15 years and proud of serving authentic Chinese food and fresh sushi. I would love to invite you back as my guest, please kindly email me [email protected] Chen Owner

We picked up from here recently. Points credited for the portion sizes. However, itâs all a little bland. Itâs not that itâs bad - it isnât. It just isnât great. I prefer fresher and lighter with more flavor and there are plenty of other options nearby to pick from.

We used to do take out from their old location across the street and were delighted when they moved to a location with sit down eating. Unfortunately we thought the food was only average at best. The very basic pad thai should have been a slam dunk, but it was kind of gummy and way too sweet. Curries were ok, but the very basic menu items should be better. Too bad

We were in Wilmette and thought our group of 6 would give Torino a try. We checked thier website under FAQ's before arriving to determine if there were gluten free options. One person in our party is severely intolerant. Our server while nice did not know what the options were. Another server tried to tell us that soy sauce does not have gluten. That would only be true if they used gluten free soy sauce. Soy sauce is usually made with fermented wheat. The website's answer to the GF question states; "Yes we do. Please ask our servers a few options." The only gluten free option was a bowl of white rice. I expected more. I expect the staff to know what the options are especially if the website states "ask our servers."We left the restaurant and went to a Thai place around the corner that offers gluten free soy sauce.I am sorry for what you had to experience. We do realize a need to accommodate gluten free diners and yes we now have a gluten free menu that you can ask for when you come dine. We also realize there was a need to train our servers back then. We still continue to work on our menu and better our service. I hope you can give us another chance to serve you.

This is our favorite sushi place for years! It is quite small. It is family owned and the staff is friendly and efficient. The menu offers sushi plus other Japanese foods. Sushi is so creative and melt in your mouth fresh. Try their Tuna Tar Tar house specialty appetizer which is sharable.

We started with a fairly mediocre hot and sour soup (without the sour). We proceeded to an average but sour broccoli with garlic sauce (too much vinegar) and tofu with minced veggies. That last dish was OK though nothing special. Service, though, was quite good.

AO Sushi specializes in fresh sushi, sashimi, and fish. We have convenient ready to go options as well as customized orders.
Great option for sushi, as it's cheaper here than other local places and very good. The trays are good for families or groups. They also sell fresh fish.

The availability and diversity of such good vegetarian is a welcomed surprise. I never knew that this place existed. The food is good and the staff very helpful. I will be back.

This is a friendly and well-run restaurant. Prices are reasonable. I had the healthy combination that started with miso soup. The plate included a California roll, gomai (spinach, which I asked to have the sauce left off because it's a bit sweet), seafood salad with cucumbers, and ample tofu steak. My wife had the changpong, a spicy noodle dish that she found lacking.

Award winning Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar and Brewpub. Fresh made Mexican cuisine, fantastic margaritas and a 100 bottle craft tequila list featuring only 100% de Agave tequilas. Beginning in 2016 we began brewing our own beer.
Recommended by family whom we were visiting in Wilmette. He has visited Mexico frequently, as have we, so we are always cautious about trying new Mexican restaurants as most are disappointing. Depot Nuevo does not disappoint! The tacos are delicious and are served in freshly grilled soft corn tortillas The salsas taste fresh. The huge selection of tequilas and mescals appear in very good margarita variations. Best of all is the decor - no giant sombreros, just classy black and white photos of Mexico itself, agave harvest etc.
