Having visited other fast food establishments in the area and found them disappointing. I approached the Golden RIver with trepidation. I need not have worried. The fish and chips are superb and their Chinese dishes equally so. All food seems freshly prepared and not just reheated. A great find and I will definitely be back. Well done to all who work there.

First time visit for us and we wonât be back. Itâs interesting to read how many people have complained about the awful service and yet, after our visit tonight, it appears nothing has been done to address this. We waited 15 minutes before we had to catch someoneâs eye to order a drink. Ordering food was a similarly laboured affair, and I got the impression the staff just didnât care about the customers. There were lots of staff wandering around, or leaning on the bar but there just didnât seem to be any sort of organised approach. The food, when it finally arrived, was ok to be fair. It certainly wasnât worth the wait though- there was only two of us and we were in there for over two hours. Never again.

The blue mango always exceeds all expectations and goes above and beyond to make the best indian ever!My fav is the chicken tikka with pilau rice. My parents have tried wide varieties of indian dishes. We are frequent enough guests not only because the food is divine but the owner and workers are friendly, the place is peaceful and if I could rate this 1000 out of 5, I definitely would.

I love curry, and have probably tried all the places in Widnes, this is the best one locally. Best to book a table ahead of time for weekend times, gets pretty busy. Always enjoy the food, the service is very good as well. The recommended onion bhaji is fantastic too.

Have eaten here numerous times and the food has been amazing. 1st time for having a takeaway and was disappointed. The starter was lukewarm and the main course was slightly warmer- considering it cost no cheaper than eating in the restaurant I do not feel it was value for money.
