Chinese Cottage provides a relaxing ambience with great food to match; it offers some of the most authentic and exceptional Oriental cuisine in the country, all dishes are prepared with the finest and freshest ingredients, and we serve our clients with ut
I visited the Chinese cottage on a Friday evening, admittedly from the outside looked a bit disheveled with the small awkward entrance. However, the food was probably the best Chinese food I have ever tasted. The service was attentive and there was not a long wait for the food. Would definitely recommend and if I am ever in the area again, will go again. âDonât judge a book by its coverâ

First visit to this Chinese restaurant after friends recommended it. Itâs only a small place, however nice decor and our server Abbie was really good (making recommendations and correcting my dodgy pronunciation of the Ashi lager ).We enjoyed the Mixed Starters to share, followed by a small section of mains and noodles etc..... All very nice! All in all a great first visit and weâd definitely return due to the food and service. Thanks Abbie.... I told you Iâd do a review and mention you LOL Dear Steve, Thanks very much for your kind review about our restaurant and of course, our lovely Abbie! Glad you enjoyed your meal so much, we do hope we will see you again soon. Kind regards, Management @ the Mayflower.

Iâve heard people say this is a hidden gem I wish it was then I would be able to go more often this is the best Thai you will ever go to,food and service is the best. But if you want to go book early as you could wait two weeks to get a weekend table. I did say itâs the best and that proves it.

We are open only evening from 5PM to 10PM. But If you like to come by lunch time please give us a call to manage your lunch time booking.
Staying overnight in Clacton I realised the choice of anywhere decent along the front was limited. However I was pleasantly surprised by Aroy Thai that was tucked away a road or so back. It had a nice ambience, great service and the food was good. I choose a glass of house red, and even that was good quality. Reasonably priced and would come again.

Popped in with family, recommended as best Indian food locally by pals. Food was pretty good, not brilliant but enjoyable and reasonable price wise. Service was poor though despite empty restaurant too many tines we had to distract the barman from his phone because we had empty glasses - annoying!

Back again, this time for lunch for the sunday banquet. Have docked them one star this time because of the misleading cost of this. We have a leaflet that states 3 courses for £9.95 but lists 4 courses, 1 starter 1 main dish 1 veg side 1 rice/naan, on the window outside the "star" it says 4 courses for £9.95 but inside on the menu it states only 3 courses for £9.95 (no veg side) and thats what you get. So 4 stars not 5 this time. Having said that after having the chicken tikka chat mossala, manchurian chicken tikka, and a chilli nan just for me you dont really need a veg side dish each as well, but we (my wife and I) did decide to order a vegetable dansak side between us anyway. My wifes main dish was the chicken dansak. And I must say we left full up and more than happy with our choices, absolutely delicious as usual.

A beautiful cliff top seaside Cafe/Restaurant. Which offers a wide range of food from sandwiches rolls wraps and paninis to classic bakes and a selection of home cooked food. Catering for many special dietry needs.
A favourite with dog walkers, this is a proper old cafe as I remember them being as a child 60 years ago. Sandwiches and mint cake with tea and coffee in mugs. Cheap and cheerful and a characterful little place staffed by lovely people who always have a smile for you. Nice place to sit outside when the sun shines. It's the sort of place that should be supported when new, subsidised fancy 'centre' (and expensive cafe) is built right across the green from them! Long may thay prosper!

This is one of the top indian restaurant in essex county. Please come and have a try and you will see the difference.
Since the order was taken and we were given drinks, we had to wait for an hour. But the worst part is that nobody check if we had any drinks left. Food was served just because we wanted to leave.Poor service. Paratha- made on old oil- impossible to eat. At the end there was a mistake on our bill. Waiter could not calculate it properly The worst experience ever!!!

British India stands out as one of the best Indian restaurants in a very large area and having eaten in a great many of them I speak from experience. The food is not only prepared with care and considerable skill but the speciality dishes set it aside as a gourmet experience at really reasonable prices. give it a try you won`t be disappointed.

Myself and my family (12 people aged 2-70 years) booked a table here on a Saturday evening. We come here from London around 3-4 times a year. The staff are so friendly and always go the extra mile to be helpful and to accommodate. The table was set up beautifully, and there was plenty of room for everyone at the table. The food was just..... Delicious. Food was served piping hot and kids meals brought out first which is amazing as there are 5 of them ages 2yrs,3yrs, 2x4yrs and a 7 year old). This meant that the adults could actually eat their food when it was HOT!!The kids ate all of their food as did the adults!! We will deffo be visiting again soon!! just sad that this isn't nearer home!!
