Sesames has been operating in the Newcastle area for 20 years. This popular lakeside restaurant is owned & operated by the original owners. The menu is a tasty mix of authentic Thai favourites & fusion style signature dishes that continue to impress even
Quality of food was not quite the same as it has been on previous visits. Itâs gone from being one of the top Thai restaurants in Newcastle / Lake Macquarie to one that is more like simply the same as the others. Itâs just plain basic & average

My wife ordered an entree selection as a main & rated her meal highly. I ordered a prawn stir fry with home made tamarind sauce & found it very average.Whilst the vegetables & prawns were OK overall I would not call it a thai meal due to the lack of spices.Service was a bit casual. I will not be hurrying back although I will give it another try owing to the good reviews from other diners.

A great night out especially with kids. Fun to watch your meal prepared in front of you by clever chefs. The restaurant is very noisy so not a great location for conversation but the whole point of coming here is to be entertained by the cooking experience. Food was very fresh and prepared in a simple yet tasty way. A family favourite!
This has been, for 35 years, the only restaurant in my home suburb. My wife and I, our friends and extended family have averaged 10-12 visits per year, about half as eat-in and half as takeaway opportunities. The decor has always been clean, tidy and simple ... southern Chinese nick-nacks and 'art' in a cool double-brick interior. The owners have effective air-conditioning. There is a liquor store next door for those who need wine or beer but the Ocean Melody has an ample supply of soft-drinks and cold glassware from which to drink.Meals are medium-high prices but portion sizes are great. Typically, a couple would spend $85-$90 for two entrees, two mains and a couple of soft-drinks. My wife regularly takes home half or more of her main meal while I pass on entrees these days ... such is the volume of what is served.n.b. If you eat in on a Friday or Saturday evening, you will compete with the front door constantly opening and closing as, seemingly, half of Blackalls Park and Toronto call by to collect takeaways. On these evenings, in particular, the phone rings constantly with outside orders. Open for lunch noon-3pm and dinner 5:30pm-9:30pm Tuesday to Sunday. Closed Mondays (except gazetted public holidays)
This is a great little take-away Noodle Bar, offering freshly prepared dishes in a hurry at an affordable price. The kitchen is visible and clean, a real plus for me. I really like their Pad Thai noodles, but there are many other choices on their menu. Don't feel like cooking? This offers a quick, clean and cheap alternative. Order something and put your feet up for the evening!

We go here for dinner when we feel like yummy Chinese and prepared to pay more than takeaway prices. Serves are smaller but the taste of the food trumps. I feel the staff are mindful customers want a good night out and i have felt welcomed and well served each occasion (same staff for ages). I will go back and i recommend this place to friends. Don't expect great value but thats my only negative. Enjoy!

We enjoyed some very nice dishes from here. We were visiting friends who live about 10 minutes drive from Toronto. The ordering was easy and the food was delivered nice & hot and earlier than the estimated time. All dishes were nice and fresh. The entrees were a reasonable size and all meals were flavoursome.
