The restaurant was under the ever vigil eyes of Thiru V . Raja , Resort Manager who was ably assisted by Thiru Jegath . Like its counterpart in Mahabalipuram , this restaurant was also spread on two tiers . The lower tier was under the roof while the upper one was open to the sky . In addition it had a stage . While we were taking our dinner on 6th Dec we were entertained by a westerner who was playing his Hawaian guitar . On 6th a group of Japanese guests came for dinner . The resort management placed delicately cut tomatoes in the form of lamp inside which one tiny candle burning , in front of each guest . We were highly impressed by the arrangement . On our request we were honoured by the same royal treatment when we were having our next dinner. Similarly when I expressed my desire to have chicken dosa at the breakfast . My request was promptly fulfilled .But the best part of our dining experience was the meeting with Thiru Dharmalingam whose brain child was this Ideal Group of Resorts . We had pleasantries both at the dinner as well as at the breakfast .

Near old bus stand, one of the good Vegetarian hotel is Vasantha Bhavan, an ancient hotel, now standing renovated. Good tiffin items for breakfast and dinner. Lunch time is too crowded. Parking is almost nil being on the main road. For good tiffin, other things can be put up with. Very reasonable prices.

Highly recommended by locals and tourists alike, this non veg restaurant is famous for chicken and Mutton Biriyani. There are both chicken and Mutton side dishes to go with main Biriyani and portions are quite large, so can easily be shared. Reasonable price. For good food, rude waiters and unclean floors can be tolerated. Location just opposite to new bus stand is an advantage.

My lovely wife and I popped in here for a quick bite to eat one evening. It's a brightly lit, clean place just opposite the new bus stand. We'd had a large lunch so didn't want a big meal. The masala dosa hit the spot nicely. The accompanying sambar and chutneys were very tasty. Good value at 60 rupees each. The place is, however, awash with overly eager staff. I honestly have no idea why they need quite so many of them! It would have been nice to have been given a bit more space but I guess they were just being friendly. Maybe they were making a big effort just for us as I'm guessing that they don't get too many foreign visitors. Worth a visit if you are staying nearby or are waiting for a bus.
