Find out what Asian restaurants to try in Sittingbourne. Sittingbourne is an industrial town situated in the Swale district of Kent in south east England, 17 miles (27 km) from Canterbury and 45 miles (72 km) from London. The town sits beside the Roman Watling Street, an ancient British trackway used by the Romans and the Anglo-Saxons and next to the Swale, a strip of sea separating mainland Kent from the Isle of Sheppey. The town became prominent after the death of Thomas Becket in 1170, since it provided a convenient resting point on the road from London to Canterbury and Dover.

As a family we get together frequently. We decided to have a takeaway. We ordered from Bengal Spice and decided to collect to take advantage of the 15% discount. When we received the order, four dishes were missing. We rang the Bengal Spice to be told that we could collect the dishes. When we went to the restaurant we were made to pay again for the missing dishes, which we had already paid for, we wouldnât have done this if the dishes werenât for children. The staff were rude, obnoxious and arrogant. The food was well below standard, the naan breads were all cold and so was the rice. Four of the family have experienced diarrhoea during the night, they had all eaten chicken dishes from the Bengal. If you want a good meal and friendly atmosphere, avoid this place like the plague. Will never recommend to anybody.
My favourite Indian, best masala I've ever had and love the little dips and popadom you get with it. Shame it's not a restaurant to sit in otherwise I would visit more often Friendly staff, good value for money too

Where do i begin... I thought i would try British Raj for a change and a treat for my father I booked for a table of 4 and stated ill be using a tastecard on a Tuesday which also states on the tastecard website i can use it. We had our meal which was average we discussed it wasn't great and proberly wouldn't rush back. The bill came and the discount wasn't applied so I approached the bar and explained to be branded basically a liar I did not ask the staff if i could use it. On principle I explained I asked twice if i could. So the lady sent out the manager who came out in an aggressive manner still wearing his chefs outfit! before i was given the chance to explain. He explained to me he had only opened on a Tuesday ( usually closed) because it was one of his " good customers" birthday! How i was meant to know that i have no idea. He said he was sorry i was uninformed but the staff member had only started there that day and she's 16! again not my problem but was made to feel it was me in the wrong and I had inconvienced his " Good customers" birthday. This conversation proceeded to go round in circles with him raising his voice so the whole restaurant was aware he said pay all the money or dont pay anything which i found very odd. I was sticking to my guns and said i will pay the 2 for 1 ( that was all the food was worth in my opinion) he told us to just leave and dont bother paying. I explained I wouldn't be doing that i will pay for what we have had. As he proceeded to raise his voice and tell me how much he earns a week which is no interest to me. I had to basically beg him to take some money as I'm not the kind of person that would just leave after much persuasion he accepted. I have never been soo embarrassed in front of people I booked here to take my father for a good evening which ended up in us all humiliated in front of a whole restaurant. Needless to say I will not return to be treated like that. We will stick to our usuall indian restaurant which treats their customers with respect and the food is much better!

Amazing food, infact the best I have had in absolute ages. Why isn't it busy? Car parking I reckon although the establishment doesn't serve alcohol although serves non alcoholic drinks at unfortunately alcoholic prices, I think that the lack of car parking is an issue, which is a shame as the meal was absolutely put of this world

Nice friendly staff. Nice and clean. Good tasty food. The Jalfrezi was a bit hotter and spicier then Iâm used too. But very good. Service a tad slow. But nothing to be bothered about. Yes, recommended.

The food and staff were great however my only concern is they put a V next to items that have seafood. I had to tell them I was allergic to seafood in order to make sure they didn't cover it in oyster sauce. A little education is needed here for staff and chefs. Other than that the staff were very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was great.

We have visited this restaurant on a few occasions now, some of the best service weâve ever received. Restaurant is clean and tidy.Great selection on the menu, and youâre not waiting too long between dishes being served to your table either. Value for money is good, and tastes like a traditional curry. Portion sizes are fantastic too. You almost feel like part of the family when you visit and always made to feel welcome. Weâre looking forward to our next visit already.

Taken by a friend therefore this was my first visit. Friendly welcome back the many varied dishes are explained and tailored to your taste. Quality is excellent and the quantity more than generous for the price. Seating is limited and the rear of the restaurant can be quite dark during the day, but no doubt well lit at night. Reviews reflect what a gem this place is, and if you have a passion for well presented Indian food at very reasonable prices you will be hard pressed to find better. My friend certainly did me a favor and I will definitely be back. Thank you.
