my wife and I went to this place a few times, sure the food is good and it's a reasonable price.. But we ate their last week and both got ill from it. I don't recommend this place for the freshness of their food. Sad to say because it's a good business but employees not washing their hands like they should be..

If you're looking for sashimi (raw fish), teriyaki (stir fry), raman (noodle soup), or katsu (fried pork/chicken cutlet), DO NOT come here. Hachi Ju Hachi serves delightful dishes with simple and light flavors. Many people seeking bold flavors will find this food bland. However, if you enjoy savoring the subtle tastes of non-extravagant but thoughtfully prepared dishes, you'll enjoy this place just as I do. Also, the interior decor is more like a college dorm room than a fancy high-end restaurant, so make sure you're coming for the food and environment of authenticity, not for romantic luxury ambiance.

Was there for Friday lunch buffet with colleagues. This place was referred by a Russian friend, they have a very good buffet menu. In starters were street food items including pani poori, pakoras and chaat. Mixed veg salad was fresh, tangy, spicy and good. Papad was crust and very nicely roasted. Tandoori chicken was tender, juicy and had right portions of masala. Chicken biryani and lamb curry were very deliciously done. There were lot many items but I was full with biryani and lamb and chicken curries. Food was definitely the best Friday lunch I had in the recent past. Waiters were very quick in refilling the dishes but not quick enough to clear the empty plates on the table, get water or check. Price is reasonable for what you get, parking is crazy bad.

I don't go to Japanese very often, but this vegetarian menu was impressive. There were around 12 vegetarian choices.I ordered avocado rolls and Miso soup and green tea ice-cream for dessert. The avocado rolls were great with the Wasabe and the pickled ginger. The avocado was perfectly ripe. The tempura was nicely presented and apparently very good as well.I liked my Miso soup, however it could have been slightly warmer. We had Sake and it was good.My green tea ice-cream was OK. They had scraped some of the "old ice-cream that tastes stale as well as the fresh middle. Not sure the person who did this knew it was not the freshest ice-cream on the plate.Presentation of everything was very nice, therefore appetizing looking.

Got something to takeaway, which was fine. Priced nicely (1 person meal for $15). Restaurant itself doesn't have many tables, so keep that in mind. Had to wait only 10 minutes for meal to be ready for takeaway.

We did takeout and this was one of the best sushi restaurants in the area. The restaurant was relatively full on a early Friday evening. The sushi was very good and had a generous amount of filling. Also, the prices are reasonable. We are done trying out sushi restaurants and are planning to make this our regular sushi place.

Hongs is a Saratoga institution. It's been there for a long time. It's a legitimate higher-end Chinese restaurant. The decor is a touch modern for me but it's all well done. The room is large and tastefully decorated. Comfortable and familiar. The service was fine. No major winning points. But nothing to distract either. Expect a good experience. Regretfully, I could describe the food the same way. We had appetizers and I had my usual Kung Pao chicken. It was all good but nothing stood out. Bottom line, you cannot go wrong seeking an upscale experience ay Hongs, just don't set your expectations too high and you'll be fine.

Excellent food - the wild mushroom soup and the special beef filet were wonderful. My husband very much enjoyed his duck confit. The service was also outstanding - our waiter was very attentive and pleasant under difficult circumstances. The disappointing part of the evening was the extreme level of noise in the dining room. We were seated across from a very loud, rude celebratory party of 12. Since we could not hear each other talk, we rushed through our dinner to escape. There was probably nothing the management could have done about the situation at that time, but it certainly ruined our evening. Until some changes in policy or the physical set-up of the restaurant are made, I would not recommend Nick's for a special evening such as the one we were anticipating.

While the presentations are nice, the food itself is nearly tasteless (not merely unspicy, no complexity at all). I ordered what I hoped would be an exotic stuff squid seafood soup, but instead found hard white rubber balls (overcooked squid) with some very grey mystery meat inside (it was supposed to be sausage). The broth was very salty, filled mainly with seaweed. Healthy I am sure, but very unsatisfying. Husband had Pad Thai that looked the part, but this dish had no get up and go. We got up and left.

This is our favorite Thai restaurant in area. Small and cosy, with good service and excellent food. Good place for family dinner.
