Pleasant enough. Decent food and nice service, but the ramen is still industrial, decent-standard industrial. Pork also tasted industrial: big order quantity, frozen, inventory not turning as fast as Iâd like. You wonât find any basket trays of handmade noodle or giant cauldrons of pork bones boiling all day here. Foodies will note, but others will be fine.

Yippppeeee for Yuan Fu! Now, I have another good place to eat lunch near my work that is healthy and yummy! I ordered the Lunch Special - String Beans and Shiitake Mushrooms Szechuan Style but added diced "chicken" for $3.00 more. I also got a Wonton Soup, Brown Rice, and I ordered 1 x Spring Roll for $1.75 each. What a great lunch! My favorite thing was the "chicken." YUM! I will definitely be back because the staff is super friendly and the food is GOOD! Plus, I have to try their "Lunch Box" which is only $8.00 and you can get in-restaurant. One scoop of rice and three choices of assorted food items on their hot buffet. It looked so incredibly good and fresh that I almost ordered it even though I had already called ahead & ordered my lunch to-go already. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I can't wait to go back.

Sushi Damo is the gem destination in the heart of Rockville. The menu offers Sushi, sashimi, creative sushi rolls, teriyaki, and tempura along with a beautiful bar and lounge area featuring a wide range of premium sake, wines, and specialty drinks.
The restaurant is nicely situated in downtown Rockville. The decor and seating are very nice and comfortable. Interior has a choice of sofa/armchair seating or regular tables. Outside has good seating, try to reserve the private 2 seater outside when making reservations, especially if on a date. Their service is generally good and friendly.I've been to this restaurant a few times before writing this review, just to make sure it's accurate.I find that their food is not authentic Asian and they are trying incredibly hard to have creative dishes with nice presentation, instead of actually focusing on the taste of the food and the quality of their ingredients. I found all of their dishes to be bland and low in quality. Here are some examples:Miso soup - Nice texture, a little bland, a few drops of soy really help itSeaweed Salad - Good variety of seaweed, good amount of sesame, not fond of the sour tang that it has, small portionMussel Soup - Skip it! Comes with approximately 6 large mussels. The mussels were tasteless and rubbery, the broth is bland and plain, so they try to spice it up, but that does nothing for the flavor, needs flavor. There was sand in the broth.Salmon Carpaccio - The salmon was drenched in oil/sauce and tasteless, the only think I tasted was the avocado. Greasy and bland.Bonfire Roll - Terrible! Tasted like soggy wonder bread with crumbled mushy fish, cheap quality, low grade overcooked rice, supposed ti be spicy, but nope! They had 1/2 piece of seedless bland jalapeno. Also, why vinaigrette in sushi? Awful! Eel Avocado roll - Barely acceptable. The eel is cheap, crumbled, not one piece, not enough sesame seeds on the outside of the roll, the eel sauce tastes like duck sauce and it not good!Dessert - Ice cream tempura with caramel sauce- It's fine, tastes sweet and good. The tempura part was not crispy, was soggy and cold, the ratio of ice cream to sauce to tempura was way off. There was barely any ice cream, a lot of sauce, tempura and whip cream.Sushi Damo is just trying too hard, they need to perfect the basics before they try to get creative. Their food presentation is very nice, but the food itself is not good. There are so many other places that are far better at this price range!Thank you for posting the details about your visit to Sushi Damo. We are sharing your review with Chef in offering input. It goes without saying that in Japan, the homemade miso soup will be milder than what most consumers are used to tasting. Soy sauce is never added to miso soup, but we certainly won't stop any customer who wishes to embellish their dish. Many Japanese restaurants add MSG and a lot of sea salt to their dishes to enhance their flavors and although it makes for a yummy meal, it goes against everything Chef Okamura believes in creating the best quality food for our customers. We hope you will give us another try when you are nearby--and email me in advance for the private 2 seater outside during our patio season! ---Karyl (owner)

They do not serve Galbi/Kalbi. However, they serve great quality steak seasoned just right. Their dishes are on point. How are they different from every other KBBQ jointâ the fermentation of their Kimchi, the rich and fresh qualities of their food, and the service. The service team at Iron Age doesnât assume you canât understand their language. They treat you with prompt and adequate serviceâplusâitâs all you can eat. If Iâm spending 45 bucks. Iâm spending it thereâ45 because I love my soju.

I went here at the end of January 2018 with one female friend. We went for a late lunch. Each of us ordered two tall Sapporo canned beers. Each beer was $10 apiece. We opted to try a variety of things, and to branch out from our usual selections which might have kept our bill a little lower.Including the four drinks, our bill came out to $95 more or less, before tax and tip. On yelp it stated we could expect to spend about $75 for two people to dine, so I find it reasonable that we spent 95 including the four beers. The ocean wave role was quite delicious. The Agedashi tofu was also delicious, and was a first for my friend. The sunomono salad was a miss. My friend had never had this type of salad before, but I had, and found myself disappointed when it arrived and I saw how meager the portions of fish were. The miso soup so were good but not exceptional. The other rolls we ordered were all delicious. This was my second visit to this restaurant and my friend was on her first visit. We both agreed we would like to return and take advantage of the lunch specials they offer in the future. Their menu is quite diverse and caters to people who eat raw or cooked fish alike. There were even options for people who donât eat fish or shellfish at all. Chicken and beef options were available, as were vegetarian options. I will most definitely go back in the future as the service was pretty good, the establishment was clean and tidy, in the food has been pretty good both of the times Iâve visited. Iâm glad to have found a new (to me) sushi restaurant in the Rockville area.

Came here on my son's recommendation. Very low-key, family friendly place with incredibly fresh sushi and sashimi. Loved the octopus dumplings and the fried oysters. I liked the ramen, but did not think it was the best I have every had. The fatty tuna sashimi was pricey ($17.95) for six pieces, but it was definitely delicious. The saki selection was very good.

Came here with a friend who knew the menu and spoke the language; that makes for a smooth first experience. We sampled the menu including a house specialty - handmade spicy noodle soup. The we had everything from the soup dumplings to hundred year old eggs to sliced pigs ear to bowls of hot soy milk. Everything was a taste treat! Good service; cash only.

I always complain about the Chinese food in Bethesda. From now on, I'll take a longer trip and go to Rockville instead. This food was excellent. Fresh ingredients. Not oversauced or oversweetened. Soup dumplings, fried rice - really every dish we had was excellent. We'll be back. Cash Only!

Very uneven. Dumplings and Dan Dan noodles a disaster. Likely frozen dim sum from a bag. Chicken and veggie dishes hit higher marks. In all more hype than quality Chinese.

A quick Google search turned up yelp and other sites about East Pearl, but there doesn't appear to be a dedicated website. Excellent food!
My first visit was with some friends who've been there before. While there are several very good Chinese restaurants in Rockville, this ranks among the best. The speed of the service is dependent upon the size of the crowd, the time, and the day of the week. Nevertheless, the food was always superb. As others have noted, the menu is oriented to those who prefer authentic Chinese food (China natives, for example), and those who prefer Chinese food moderated for the American palate. Prices are low to moderate; dress is informal; mastery of Mandarin is not needed.
