Reviews on Asian food in Rabat, Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer Region, Morocco. Morocco's coastal capital since 1912, Rabat has just over a million people. Modern and even reserved by Moroccan standards, the city also has many fascinating historic sites, including the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas, built in the mid-12th century. The unique Hassan Tower, begun at the end of the 12th century, was meant to have the world's largest minaret, but was never completed. Just opposite the tower lies the 20th-century Mausoleum of Mohammed V, another of the city's main attractions.

If you'd like a change from the tajines, brochettes, pizzas and paninis that are tiringly ever present in restaurant menus in Morocco, Le Mandarin is a welcome change. The restaurant serves authentic Vietnamese food, not like those universal Asian restaurants that litter Morocco serving both sushi and curry and everything else vaguely Asian. The restaurant is decorated in dark reds and light greens with plenty of space between tables. The selection is impressive with salads, pho, spring rolls, beef and seafood dishes. The salad and spring rolls were fresh and pleasant while the pho was decent-sized with a weak broth. The calamari curry featured tender squid with a slightly spicy green curry. The beef Lao Lac was flavorful and was our favorite. Beer is also available. Le Mandarin is uneven but a much-needed addition to all the sameness.

We shared a bento box and a wok. Service was fast and friendly, food clean and fresh. I also like their fried sushi (sauce on the side), miso soup, and chicken nems.

For a light diner, I ordered few "Yoka Frits" pieces : Sushi pizza mozzarella and Yoka. The first ones were delicious but the Yoka were tasteless, you feel like eating a random fried sushi rolls! For dessert, the banoffee pie was a total disappointment, it was overloaded with chantilly on top instead of cheese creme in other sushi restaurants. Luckily, the waiter took note of our feedback. The service was good.

The fresh salmon Sashimi is sensational - I actually start with three varieties - marinated and sushi also. Then delicious chicken miso soup. Different steak or fish main courses. For those who didn't realise - Rabat is on the Atlantic Ocean with an abundance of great fresh fish available. Best Japanese food in Africa.

Located on the esplanade of Rabat in the new business district of Hay Riad, AS'IAM is a journey for your eyes and taste buds. The uniforms and woodwork are traditional, the lighting is dimmed, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. When it comes to
We went here for a lunch date. We found this restaurant to have the best sushi we have had so far in Rabat. I believe we have tried most, if not all the other sushi places. They use high quality ingredients. The servers know what they are doing. The location provides a great place for a quiet walk after lunch or dinner.

Naga is a refined and well managed restaurant. The plates are delicate, and maximum attention to detail is given to the preparation of the meals. Most of the staff is Asian, which make the food truly authentic with a twist of western fusion.

Sip champagne or a non-alcoholic cocktail at this glamorous yet intimate Rabat bar, whose marble interiors gleam in amber light. Relax in a dark wing-back chair and listen to live music as a bartender artfully mixes your drinks.
