Went here for the first time. My wife and I ordered their lunch specials which came with either a soda drink or an egg roll. We tried the crispy dragon beef and the scrambled eggs over rice with oyster sauce. We were impressed and liked both dishes. We asked for additional oyster sauce, but had to go easy since it could get salty. Service was very good and the place was cozy and clean. And the prices were very reasonable. We were quite happy with this new discovery in our neighborhood.

Dim Sum King

Chinese Dim Sum and Seafood restaurant. We're only one in the bay area served all day dim sum, over 100 different items. Fresh and hand made, cooks when you order. Steamed seafood at the dinner time, served live lobster, crab, geoduck and sea clam.

Eight adults came for dinner on a Monday night. We asked for a quiet table so we could talk but were placed next to children playing very loudly. Thankfully they left after packing up their leftovers. All guests were seated in central area outside kitchen. The waiter that served us could barely speak English. So I ended up translating for my host in Cantonese.Since this is a seafood place, we tried to order seafood. Our host went to check on the "Fresh fish in the tank" but they looked pathetic and listless, so we skipped that. The waiter kept pushing river prawns as special of the day, how it was $25 here but the store was selling them at $28! My host wanted wasabi prawns, which they do not cook. We compromised on salt and pepper prawns but the taste and texture were mediocre, not fresh. We wanted to order scallops with asparagus- a fairly common dish. They only had scallops in the shell at $10 per piece so we skipped that. The Peking duck (skin and drum sticks) was good, as was the side dish( rest of duck with tofu. The beef with mix of mushrooms was ok, too thickly covered with caramelized hoisin sauce. To miao or young pea shoots were not young or tender but they were cooked nicely with a little garlic. The soup with real crab meat was a disappointment, it had something crunchy in it we could not quite identify. And as soon as it cooled down a little it tasted very fishy!I was someone's guest so no complains from me there and then but I would not consider this a good seafood restaurant.

I've tried this restaurant three times and I can summarize all of those meals as bland. Nothing stands out, nothing was truly awful. One thing I didn't care for during my most recent visit was that the appetizer arrived after the entree. To be fair I haven't gone for a sushi/sashimi meal, which seems to be their forte. The service is good, the location could be a problem if you are planning an early dinner. Traffic in this part of Pacifica is typically a nightmare during commute hours.

My friend and I stopped in for a Dim Sum lunch. Restaurant was not crowed when we arrived and we were seated quickly. Largest dim sum selection I have every seen. No steam cart - one just orders off a menu. One peeve.... as the only non-Asian guests in the restaurant, service was not outstanding. Other Asian guests arriving much later than us were served more quickly and with a smile. Food was quite good - and we ordered 8 different small plates. Price was $44 w/o tip.

Came in more than once. In a mall corner distracts. Twelve tables have open space. Seating also at counter to watch chef. Had their Thursday special which came in a compartment tray. Nice presentation. Sesame Chicken wasn't what I was expecting, so not great. Just their take. Tried walnut dragon roll and Go For It roll. They were fun to try. Lots of roll choices to choses from. Avacado, fish and other ingredients we're fresh. Liked the house soup. Decor not meant to impress. Penty of dishes in the $10- 15 range.

Kenny's Cafe

Wow, some of the best Chinese food I’ve had!Kenny’s is located off the beaten path in a shopping center. There is ample parking in the parking lot. When you get inside you seat yourself. Staff is friendly and eager to help. Make sure you check out the daily specials. They serve a lot of Chjnese food, but also a smaller American food menu. At first I overlooked the American food, but I noticed many people ordering the Prime Rib special. The general chicken I got was amazing. Huge pieces of flavorful chicken, light on the sauce, mixed with onions, and fresh broccoli on the side. I get this dish from various Chinese food places in the Bay Area at least once a week and Kenny’s was the best. The egg roll was interesting. At first when you get it it looks huge! It’s about twice the normal size. But then you realize it’s double fried. The outer breading is a more puffy breading. It wasn’t bad, but not great. I’ll be back. Now to decide if I want General Chicken again or American food. Mmmm...

Koi Palace

As always the place is like a zoo. As soon as it opens, a lot of people are already waiting. Unless you know someone inside which a lot of patrons do, they get special treatments and bypass the long line which makes waiting even longer and UNFAIR. I don’t like coming because of that. Luckily we have a friend that knows someone inside. Food is still good. Worth coming (if you’re patient!), but waiting for 2 hours, you’d be the judge and find out. Service is HORRIBLE! Getting someone’s attention is another big problem. Getting your request fulfilled is another matter that the management needs to improve upon. Don’t hold your breath, it won’t improve. When requesting a glass of water plus other things, a lot of times the waiters walk away without listening to your entire sentences, thus, you end up requesting multiple times. Don’t come here if you’re not patient.
