Very good Philippine cuisine. Fresh BBQ Pork (Lechon), I was very surprized at how good this tasted. There are 6-8 other dishes, such as Sinigang (Soup), Palabok. Fresh, tasty, all of it. If you like P.I. food, come here. Very friendly operators / owners. Very clean. Almost everything is cooked in a seasoned wok. Frank S. likes it.

Was driving around driving solo and decided to stop at the Filipino Restaurant. Food was very good place was centrally located and restaurant was clean. Only thing I was disappointed in was at the food prices, a little over what I think would be fair.

The place we call home, San Diego is a city of beauty and adventure. It seemed only fitting, then, that we create for our city a restaurant that embodies those qualities. At Lai Thai, guests will find a world of colorful elegance, transporting you to Thai
I never go to National City but we decided to head south and tried this restaurant since we like Thai food. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated with various knick knacks and other Thai items. I like noodle dishes so ordered the Phad Woon Sen - glass noodles with chicken and vegetables. I also ordered the Thai dumplings as an appetizer. The Thai dumplings, almost exactly like Sui Mai (sp?) in Chinese restaurants were very good. The service was very fast so the appetizer came first and soon thereafter, before I finished the appetizer, my main dish appeared. I had to mix the ingredients of the Phad Woon Sen to get all the flavors to come out but it was quite tasty. Prices are very reasonable. They have another restaurant in Carmel Valley and a "sister" restaurant in Scripps Ranch with a different name. I would be interested in trying them, too.

Nobu, located in the Hard Rock Hotel of all places, seems a bit out of place. What is a high-end, classy Japanese restaurant doing in the Hard Rock? In any event, having dined at some of its sister restaurants, we opted for the Tanoshi Hour on a summer Friday.Tanoshi Hour has its own menu of small bites. We chose the yellowtail sashimi, pork yakiniku and black cod. All were stellar, but at $4.50 per bite on a happy hour priced menu, they should be. Washed it down with an Asahi draft ($7 for a tall, but thin, stein - probably no more than 10 oz.).Overall, quality was very high, as was the price.

To my college son insistence we went to Goldilocks to eat dinner for he crave for Palabok. We offered Lechon kawali and the fresh lumpia and Halo halo. We were not disappointed. Flavor so rich and true to the Filipino tastebuds. A very busy place but was able to accommodate us ( a company of 5 people) in less than 15 mins. Food were served in less than 15 mins as we ordered. Very attentive staff with always a smile on their faces!

I must be a bit bias, having lived in Japan for many years, but the food was a let down for me. The portions are huge, but something is missing in the flavor. I ordered the Fried Seafood mix and noticed that the batter was all flour, kinda hard, thick and the shrimp was so small. It was cut in half lengthwise instead of preparing the whole shrimp. My wife ordered the tempura and had similar complaints. Service was excellent, so no complains in that department. The place was packed, so Hanaoka is a very popular restaurant.

Where to start. Ok...least impressive Filipino food I have ever had. The Sisig was cold and tasted more like lime than anything. The Lumpia was way over-cooked and dry...just really surprising when I saw an overall rate of four stars. The Philippines has such a rich heritage and food menu...but it is missed here. Thankfully I am married to a Filipino who is also a certified Chef. When I go home I can make up for this mistake.

This is a very friendly, family owned Japanese restaurant. Everything we tried was excellent and served with a beautiful presentation. We had garlic edamame, crunchy sushi, salmon in a very tasty sauce, and their desert specialty of fried peanut butter and jelly with vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries. The location is in an industrial area but clean, intimate, and excellent service.
