Mess Hall Cutie and I had Sunday Brunch Buffet at this well established and popular restaurant. Sundays are busy but had no trouble getting seated immediately. Sundays there is an expanded buffet. More seafood to include their famous "Bang Bang Shrimp", fried Flounder and other semi-spicy delights. There is a hibachi line where you take a plate, pick your fresh meats and veggies and have the chef prepare everything on the hibachi flat top grill. Meat choices are shrimp, fish, chicken with a variety of vegetables. Choice of rice or noodles at the grill. Food is good and hot with a staff attending the buffet line keeping it clean and food replenished. Desert options are better on weekends compared with weekdays. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Sunday buffet $10.99. This Mess Hall Couple has eaten there several times over the years and will continue to visit with the troops. Mess Hall Review

Wife saw this place as we drove by and suggested we might try them out, just for comparison to the Okinawan restaurant we visited in Las Vegas.Wife ordered Okazu with beef, tofu and veggies. Simple Okinawan dish, basically a beef & veggie stir fry with side of white rice and miso soup. She enjoyed it and approved the taste as worth going back.I, on the other hand, ordered beef yakisoba, fried noodles with beef. Tasty and hot off the pan. Typical "Japanese style" fried noodles yet, good as it gets. With 2 drinks, total came to @$28, average for a dinner for 2, if not below average cost.Definitely a revisiting worthy place for a small restaurant...BTW, great server who attended to us IMMEDIATELY and VERY courteous, worthy of tips(hint, hint).

My husband and I discovered this little shop one Easter a few years back and itâs been one of my favorite local diners ever since! There have been a few changes over the years, but itâs mostly good! (My favorite meal is no longer on the menu, but thereâs still plenty to choose from.)More importantly, the staff and people who own the place. They are AMAZING. So down to Earth and so kind. Today, I stopped by to get a quick lunch after work and a woman there (judging by her interactions with the staff, she owned or was related to the owners here) sat and talked to me while I waited. She taught me a little Japanese (and was so graceful when I was terrible) and we just made small talk.Itâs interactions like this that really make me love Yakitori House.(And they found potatoâs that this picky eater liked! I know they arenât on the menu, but the staff should really consider it!)

Popped in for a late lunch during the holiday week. Just a few others dining. Service was excellent. Asian Draft beer super cold and interesting wine/cocktail list. Our food was tasty, well prepared with lots of vegetables and fresh flavors. The decor of this place is unreal. Will be back soon...

2 star just because of friendly staff.Place looked run-down, in desperate need of update.Although pricing wasn't too high for servings of 2, food had a lot to be desired.I tried their ""#53", some type of Pho with dumplings, beef, noodles and some veggies. What I got looked NOTHING like the photo in their menu.Meat sliced so thin, you can see through it AND it was so dry and tasteless, it served no purpose in the broth. I got 3/4 bowl of broth, not much of anything else to feel full.Speaking of broth, the ramen noodles we buy from Walmart have MORE flavoring and it only cost $.14 a pack! The so called dumplings were so tiny, it too served no purpose and tasteless.Wife ordered "grilled pork" Lo Mein. What she got looked NOTHING like grilled pork and it looked and tasted like my dried out beef in my Pho with some type of "sweet" sauce. For @$24 for 2, still not a vad price BUT, what we got wasn't worth $24.We will NOT be going back to this place.

We had planned for Prime rib dinner for Christmas and realized we had forgotten to get horseradish! So we tried the few open stores on Christmas to no avail, and saw Sake Asian Fusion was open behind the Hooters. Figured wasabi was Japanese horseradish, so we stopped in to try to buy some. The place was full of patrons and the very nice waitress heard our request and got us some wasabi in a take out container and gave it to us. We offered to pay her, but she refused. The next day, we were out doing errands and decided to stop in for sushi and we were not disappointed. The Japanese Nachos were a surprise, tasty and spicy. The BMW roll and the Sweetheart rolls were really good too, fresh and the spicy sauce just enough kick. The Dragon roll and the Gorilla rolls were a little spicy for my tastes, but my nephew-in-law and niece enjoyed it. We had twin toddlers who were entertained with he lollipops and one even adventured into the BMW roll and ate the whole thing. We discovered a pocket of wasabi before she ate that too, but not a drop of the BMW piece was left on her plate! Overall, good meal for 3 adults, twin toddlers and a 10 year old! We had great sushi while they were stationed in Okinawa, and this measured up as a good second!

We have not tried their sushi...we go for their hibachi lunch. Marine vet turned chef, Michael cooked for us, and James was our server. Excellent! Love the ginger salad dressing, and the jumbo shrimp are outstanding. Lunch is a little slow if you have to get back to work, but the food and service are quite good.

Of the competition, this place blows them away! Immediately we were greeted and it felt like we were all related, but not in an awkward way. The servers were genuine and truly wanted to give us a great experience. The hibachi cook was truly awesome to us. He was funny yet professional which is unlike anything we've seen at the other place. The prices were on par with the experience. A family of 5 for 80 bucks isn't bad. I had the Orion beer so that took a chunk by itself. That was a treat all in itself. Portion size and rice are the only things that moved this review to a 4. Although we all had leftovers, the portions are a bit smaller than the competitor. Other than this, it is as a memorable experience and we shall return.

Visiting family in Jacksonville, NC; trying something new. Heard good things about Old Siam but wasnât certain as we pulled into a nearly empty lot, but the food made up for it. The Volcano Chicken was a crisply fried boneless breast with crunchy vegetables and tasty sauce. Also good, the Pad Thai, but the shrimp was so-so; order a different protein. I make pretty good red curry, and theirs was equally good.

I have no idea why this place is #2 in Jacksonville. Service was slow and the sushi was average at best. It might be the only place to get sushi in Jacksonville though.
